Steiny....if you want the full support of this site, you have to, at a minimum post roll every day. It's not a when you feel like it sort of thing. If you are serious about quitting. Do things the right way here. And you will be quit, for real. Do things half assed and more than likely you'll have a half assed quit.

I'm sorry for your headaches man. I had them too. Water (like 8 glasses a day) and some migraine medicine will help. Glad you're here, and hope you stick with it.

Congrats on a great choice. One week is huge...but it is nothing compared to what you can do. The headaches will go away, as will all the symptoms. But you can't grow another jaw. So post roll and live free!

Smart decision coming here, and even smarter decision to quit in the first place. Wish I could tell you the dip dreams go away soon, but I've had a few in the last week or two that caught me totally off guard. Eventually, I hope.

FkSkoal is right. Drink lots of water (juice also helped me). You made it through the toughest physical part — now it's mental. Go and get set up on roll (you'll be in January, topic/10564902/117/). Make the promise not to use nicotine One Day At A Time and Every Damn Day. Don't think about forever because that can screw you up.

I quit with you today — looking forward to seeing your name around here.

"What would you do to save your own life? If you were fighting cancer today would you suffer through Chemo, surgeries, try new a therapy? change your diet, go to church? What intolerable hell would you endure to simply live. When you have thought long and hard about that, think on this. Why not apply that attitude to your quit. Suffer through the temporary discomfort of withdrawal to achieve your freedom from a slow painful demise via nicotine. Your in the ring already- fight like you mean it." - Skoal Monster 10/8/14

Congrats bro. Read up about posting roll DAILY in your designated quit group. It will help keep you accountable.
Headaches were the worst part for me early in my quit, but Excedrin Migraine helped tremendously. That, and lots of water.

I quit 1 week ago today, and it hasn't been easy
« on: October 06, 2014, 05:32:00 PM »
I started dipping when I was 18 years old and a senior in high school. I continued to do it throughout college for 4 years and at 23 years of age, have just made the decision to quit for good. It has now been a week since I quit. It has been far from easy, but I feel my mental strength is getting better and better with each day that passes. The hardest part so far has been the massive headaches I have been getting. The thing that I am most thankful for is that sleep has not been too much of an issue yet, (although I did have a "dip dream" last night). I am glad that there is a forum for fellow quitters on the Internet where individuals can go for support and advice.

Thanks,

Alex
