EFNKodiak, thanks for the words and encouragement, and also on your quit - glad we're in the same group, and got some strong people to lean on - and be leaned on.

Yup, stopped in the past, but never committed to quit - that's the past, this is now, and it's gonna suck, I know, but it's time, time, time.

Thanks, and everyone feel free to reach out to me if I can help in any way - I'm new to quitting, but not to encouraging and helping, so let me know.
Spoken like a wise quitter. Make it stick this time, sir.

Reach out if you need anything.

Jake, Way to make the right choice. Sounds like you have no problem stopping. It's just that you never committed to quit. I stopped in the past as well and eventually caved, but that was before I found this site. For now I am staying quit one day at a time. I'm in the June Quit Group and it looks like a strong group so far. Cannaday said it like it is "you can do it, one day at a time, thats what we do here everyday." My contact info is on the June Quit Group spreadsheet. Don't hesitate to reach out.

jhaenel23  Cannaday - thanks for your posts, info, and encouragement. Not easy, not fun, but going well so far. By this time, I normally would've had 4-5 chews of Kodiak, but none today - and none will come.

Good to have friends in this fight - like climbing a big mountain, it's gotta be one step at a time - one day, one hour, one minute, keep fighting, and before you know it, you're getting up there.

Thanks again...

Hi everyone,

I've been chewing since I was 15 - now 39, so a lot of years, about 24 too many by my count. And, to boot, much of that time has been not spitting, so taking that crap into my system fully - not good.

But, as all of you know, Nic sunk it's teeth into me a long time ago, it's become part of my personality, something I just do - and do - and do - and it's been a bear to quit.

I'm a climber by profession, so have quit many times the easy way - going on a 3 month expedition where there simply is none to be had anywhere. But, I come home, know it's down the street at 7-11 or something, and cave.

It's finally time - I've had enough. I'm doing this for my 2 kids, for my wife (who's put up with it for way too long), for my wallet, and , ultimately, for me.

Posting roll now - thanks,

jaken

KKLJINC  marcusaurelius,

thanks for your thoughts - it really helps to know I'm not alone in this. What a nasty fing habit and drug, but, for the first time, psyched to be getting rid of it. I know it's gonna suck - it already does to some extent - but I'm ready.

Thanks again,

Jake
