Use the fake if it helps. I'd rather you do that than a prescription. But I'm not a Dr.

I used seeds, some (very littl)e fake, wint o green sunflower seeds, etc.

Make sure to get involved in your quit month (August I believe) and post roll every day.

I think Day 3 is the hardest because your brain realizes "holy shit, this dude is serious"...........and after that it gets easier. Stay strong, it's almost over.
Some of my fondest and clearest memories are peeing in places that aren't bathrooms.

Thank you for the replies. Day 3 seems the hardest yet. I've been sober for eight years, one would think this would be easy.
Day 3 was an absolute nightmare. One of the more odd withdrawal symptoms I ever head of happened to me. I could not control the volume of my voice. It was hilarious...now that I look back on it.

Rawls was eating everything that was slower than him. HAHAHA! I developed ways to eat stuff faster than me. Good thing I didn't toss the pants i had when I weighed 100+ more pounds. But, summer is here on the farm and it will melt away with plenty of water.

Our goal here is to quit one day at a time. Whatever it takes to get through those craving moments that doesn't hurt ourselves or others and it doesn't jeopardize our quit is what we need to do.

Just for today, Self.

Welcome Golf!! Nice Decision to quit.

24+ year dipper here. Addict still? yes. Slave to the can still? Nope

I replaced NIC with Klondike bars.. well not literally, but i found myself eating a lot more crap like that. Picked up a few lbs

Posting Roll call, Exercise, Water, posting Roll, diving into KTC, reading everything on KTC... Oh yeah, and google a picture of mouth cancer caused by tobacco... cut it out and keep it in your wallet. That helps me.

Never really dove into the fake, bought a can of Smokey Mountain pouches, chewed 2 of them. then tossed the can. You can do this bro. Just concentrate on ODAAT

I personally chew a lot of sugarless gum. I must have dropped at least $50 on it in the last two months. I can't seem to leave Target without $10 of gum.

I personally chose not to use the fake chew. For me, it would only re-enforce the behavioral side of the habit. Not just that, but it's always sold along side the real stuff. Might be too much temptation for me.

My first three days were terrible. I was pretty worthless at work. One colleague thought I should have stayed home. I felt bad and looked worse. I needed to keep busy.

Even now, I keep myself busy until bed time. I'm actually sleeping better since I don't have the nic in my system.

I used the fake stuff for a few months. I am one to say use it if it keeps you off the real thing.

Welcome GOLF!
Greatest game EVER.

Don't put pressure on yourself.
Quitting is a free thing.
Your free to substitute having other things in your mouth now.
In time they will fade because most are not addictive... just hard on your weight.
Many of us gain weight in the beginning.
I was eating everything slower than ME.
Hitting the COURSE and drinking lots of water helped me loose it.
Keep your mind occupied.
Read in here all you can.
Truth sets us free.
It gets better... every hour.
I quit with you today.

In time the Welbutrin can go.......
We learn how to handle life without self medicating.
We are all capable..... Non were created to need poison to live.

I recommend.
Posting Roll every Morning early.... and don't ever miss a day!

I'm taking welbutrin, I quit on 5/1/16. The nicotine withdrawal isn't too bad but not having something in my mouth all day is driving me nuts. I have thought about the fake chew but i see on here people say it will get me back to chewing. I started chewing 26 years ago. What do y'all recommend?
I think the verdict on fake is more split than anything. Works for some not so much for others.

I use sugar free (and nicotine free) chewing gum. Early in my quit, I was chewing 3 or 4 pieces at a time. Now I'm down to one piece at a time, and occasionally two.

For me, the fake chew, and using the round can, was too familiar, and I just didn't like it. But I know a lot on here use it months and years into their quit.

Different strokes.

Post roll in the August group.

Stay quit.

Anything in your mouth except nicotine is acceptable - fake has saved many a quit here. I used toothpicks myself.
