Thanks for the support guys. All reminders of the shit have been tossed. My truck is cleaned out of little brown cans, garage is clear of stained stinky ass spitters, and my daughter no longer asks "whats dat" when i sneak around a corner to fill my lip. Posting roll is where its at. Aside from the time difference, its easy to keep yourself and your teammates accountable.
The only thing i care about is my jeep... and like three people... and beer.

Welcome, Alaskan!
Head to the March 2015 group to find out how to POST ROLL. Post roll every morning to promise your group you will not use nicotine in any form for that day. Fill your mind with reading, writing, and speaking QUIT, it will spill over into your heart.

Click on member names to see their profile and list of past messages to see who you are talking to.

For example, Quitforsoj caved in june, came back in august. He never answered for his cave to anyone's satisfaction, refused to give out his number or text with his group. Now for the past two months he posts roll and that's about it. This guy is a cave coiled to strike - or did I miss something Quitfor?

When someone has a strong quit, Alaskan, it's obvious. Make yours obvious.

It is different for everyone but the first few days were very hard for me but then again on the easy days is when your guard is down. I hit 100 days quit in May and then caved in June to then do my final quit starting in Aug

My last can was on the 11/20. I have cheated on my self twice, but am remaining strong.
I think we all have done this during our trials and tribulations of quit before coming here. 1 dip turns into 2, and 2 turns into 3, and so on. Next thing you know you're finger-banging having a full-on love affair. That analogy I just wrote - was written on this site by a guy who caved; and it makes perfect sense, as addicts we have somewhat romanticize nicotine and the act of dipping. We say things like, "I love dipping" or "I love throwing in a dip when on a long drive"...the list goes on and on. In reality, that is just addict talk. Saying that you "cheated" on yourself...is just addict talk. We call that caving.

Anyhow, it's time to stop stopping and start quitting 100%. There is no "trying" to quit only "quitting." No more "cheating." So, determine how many days since your last cave and post roll with the number of days you have been quit. Post your promise not to use nicotine in any form for that day. For someone who has been reading on the site for a week, I would expect you have a sense where we are coming from. What I have written may have had a firm tone to it, but that's because I want you to be quit. I want you to save your life. And you know what, the last 4 people to make a post on your thread want the same thing for you. Lets do this.

The difference is today you made a promise to all of us - and most importantly, yourself - that you will not use nicotine today. Drink a lot of water over the next few days, and stay strong, and connected to this site. You gave yourself one hell of a Thanksgiving Day present my friend!

Welcome to the site Al. You can do this. You have made an excellent decision and have come to the right place. Quitting sucks man, make no mistake. I remember it well from 692 days ago. It is really hard especially in the beginning. Don't do it alone. Read all you can on the site. Get to know some people in your group and other groups. Check out live chat whenever the cravings hit. Use your intro like a journal. People will respond with advice and encouragement. Some of the advice can be harsh. The message is simple. No nicotine. No excuses. Quit at all cost. Things will get better.

Like Ginet says, don't worry about forever yet. And don't worry about helping the next guy just yet either. Focus on you. Focus on today. Lets get you through this thing one day at a time. One hour at a time if necessary. You can do this man. We are quit with you.

No more cheating now that you're here. This is a no nicotine quit site. If you use nicotine once you start posting roll here, that is called a cave. It's the worst thing you can do. This is because we make a daily promise to each other not to use nicotine, and then we honor that promise. We take that very seriously. Are you in?

I hope so. It's real simple. We look forward to your commitment and daily pledge.

HI Alaskan. I need to ask you something. What does "I've cheated on my self twice" mean? Does that mean you snuck in a small dip here and then another one over there? See, if you quit, like you did on 11-20, then you have, well, QUIT. That doesn't mean try to stop, that doesn't mean, quit until I sneak one in, just a small pinch, a teeny weeny pack the can and then the lip for just two minutes. That means Quit. As in never again for any reason. NAFAR....NEVER is a scary word. I mean that is a LONG time man! So, because that word sucks we just do this one day at a time. ODAAT

So. Let me know what the phrase means because until I know, I can't help you....we need to be on the same path...on the same page....

I will just be here, quitting like a girl, 333 days in a row, without a nicotine. NAFAR ODAAT

Hey guys. Today marks my first day actually posting on this site. Ive been looking at it for the last week or so. My last can was on the 11/20. I have cheated on my self twice, but am remaining strong. The most cravings ive had so far was today, something about sitting in my truck makes me was to fill my lip. I know my wife and kids are looking up to me, and i cant do a whole lot for them if im dead. I am looking forward to using this forum to help me, and in turn help the next guy behind me. Thanks
