You know, it is very rare to see an introduction that is dominated by so many new quitters without a veteran presence. I feel bad for soiling that...

All of you guys need to keep this up. Look out for each. Hold each other accountable. Make this quit your number 1 priority in this life.
In the end I Surrender, I and I alone accept that I have and always will have a Nicotene ADDICTION. It is my choice to quit, but I can't do it alone. I get to go down this path one time, I want to do it right. I recognize that my word, my integrety to you is on the line and is only as good as my actions. Caving is not an option in this plan-Eafman 7/11

I am not cured. I will quit one day at a time. I will continue to do what works. Posting roll everyday. To do otherwise would be foolish on my part. You can do this-Ready 12/11

To overcome your addiction you must comprehend what it means to fail-Razd 3/12

Theres a lot of people that come here, especially vets, that WANT to be reminded that they are addicts.-Tarpon 6/12

Just as a building starts with architectural drawings. Your daily quit begins with a promise.-Scowick 2/13

Here and now, focused on today, minute by minute, whatever it takes, I promise to all my bros and myself not to become a negative stat and stay quit!-krok 1/15

I want everyone to be quit. Even the assholes.-Probe1957 1/18

Ignoring history or erasing history fixes nothing and leads you inevitably down the same path.-69franx 04/30/2021

I quit and then relapsed and now I have quit for good. Stay with this group/forum as they understand what it means to be an addict to nicotine and how to help others quit.

Welcome to the suck (the cravings, vertigo, headaches and all the other bullshit) but willpower and drive will get you through it...and the folks here that have been through it or are going through it. Day number 6 for me.

Post roll call everyday. It reminds yourself to be true to yourself. Nobody's watching you so you have to do this for YOU. One day at a time brother.

I know exactly how you feel, I quit a year ago and was successful for 10 months before saying "fuck it" and went and bought a tin. I just quit again 2 days ago and I am feeling the pressure big time. Find things to occupy your mouth like spits, toothpicks or gum. Drink lots of water and avoid any alcohol. For me dip made me drink way more because the two complimented each other, so in a way I am quitting both.

Good Luck

Hang in there....it does get easier after a few days. We all seem to even out after the physical addiction is beat. Then we have to really rely on each other to beat the mental part while we are waiting for our brains to re-wire to life without nicotine.

Nicotine addiction can be beat and many people have done it.

I quit in the past and was good for over two years but I relapsed due to my own mistake. I took a pinch thinking that I can handle it and now I have been dipping since October of 2012. I feel guilty every time i dip and feel like crap when my three year old keeps asking me "whats in your mouth?" and "why are you spitting?" This has been an ongoing battle for the past 10 years and this time I am going to win since I am older and wiser.
