I've been addicted for 39 years to this stuff. Last few years I've been going through 5 cans a day. I've wanted to quit for awhile now but keep making excuses. I made the choice today to quit once and for all! I like what I've read on this site and think I can do it this time.
How bad do you want this?
Are you willing to give us your word, that you will be quit?
Are you willing to let us hold you to that standard?
Are you willing to do the same?
This is what we do daily. There is no try, think or hope. Each day, we just quit. Good, bad or ugly we are here, quitting we each other.
^^^^what he said. Read this^^^. Then read it again. And again tomorrow. This is what you need to win here.
Break it down and think about what it means. My 2 cents: Willing to
do is more than willing to decide. If deciding was all the doing required to quit, KTC would be a knitting site. Willing to
do means
doing, not being done. So I'd recommend you
do a lot here. Read words of wisdom. Read HOF speeches. Get involved. Encourage someone. Curse like a sailor just because. Take your nic-rage out on some caver. Take your nic-Rage out on someone who is nic-raging. But keep doing something.
We've been EXACTLY in your shoes. There is literally nothing that we (collectively) don't know about what you are and will go through to stay quit.
Do take advantage of that experience.
Do more than just throw your name on a list.
Quit is worth it. After 39 years, you don't know what life is like without nicotine. You have no idea, really. But you will start to see it. It is worth it.
