My name is Chris Baker, I am 39 years old.  I have a wonderful, 32 year old wife and 5 year old daughter.  Recently, my wife had to have a Double Preventative Mastectomy, and Reconstructive Surgery.  I am not sure if this is what made me decide to ditch the can, but while sitting in the hospital waiting room while my poor wife is literally being cut apart, I am already on my second can of snuff after about 5 hours.  I was force to ask myself, Who the hell do I think I am?  Here my wife is being proactive on cancer prevention, and I am here acting like an ass, with a mouth full of snuff.  My wife had her surgery on 7-3-12, she was in surgery for 13.5 hours, and she is doing very well in her recovery, thank you Jesus!  As for me, I continued to dip, until 7-18-12, quitting had been on my mind for a while, but never once had I even thought about quitting something that I loved as much as the can.  I was only about 1/4 finished with my can of RedSeal Natural fine cut, when I pulled up this website.  THAT DAY I flushed what was left of my can, and to be honest, have struggled through the last few days.  I have not caved, and I do not plan to.  This started as me wanted to prove something to my wife, but as I learned here on KTC, I have to do this for me.  I will not take a dip today, and I am looking forward to making 1 week, and to keep on keeping on from there.

thanks you all,
Chris Baker
Chris I'm quitting with you today! You need to post roll in October. You've been around the site enough you Probably know that. If you have a question of how to do it check out how to post roll on the header in your oct quit group page. Check Your inbox I'll tell you my story and I'll leave you my # I can tell you are sincere about this and I'm here to help!!
Welcome. You can make your quit forever if you don't think about being quit forever.

You are addicted and addicted minds can trick your resolve into caving. An addicted mind will not grasp forever or a week of being quit for that matter.

So you trick it back. You never quit for a week or forever. You quit everyday. Posting roll is your promise to quit today. Keep your word and don't dip today. You are strong enough to make it a day. All of us can battle a day of quit.

So the counter punch to an addicted mind is you aren't quit forever but you quit today. When you wake up tomorrow, just repeat your resolve for the day.

You are in hell but the best way to walk out of hell is to just keep on course and keep walking. Soon you will be free and really love the freedom over this ugly vice.

Nicotine can kiss my ass. Glad to see you here and welcome.
