I understand completely, brother. When I would spill a can all activity would stop until every crumb was retrieved and put back in the lip or can. More than once the truck got pulled over to the side of the road to rescue the vegetable god. I think that a lot of you guys must be ninjas or something the way you could hide it from your wives. Either that or my wife has an advanced version of chewdar or something. That woman knew every pinch I took for 26 years and told me about it. It got so bad that my kids used to introduce me as their Daddy who was going to die.
You can kick this habit. You've proven that your not a loser by getting this far. Hell, I lurked for almost a frickin year before I signed in. The info here is good, use it to your advantage.
Crosshair, I think my wife actually knew, but choose not to say anything...just left me alone...now that I have quit, it is amazing...she wants much more of me! Not that it was absent before, but before I go to work, I actually give her a kiss - no dip in the lip!

Hi Rugby...I certainly don't have any grand words of advice for you. I'll save that for the seasoned quitters. But please know you have already helped. Reading your roll call each day and now your introduction helps me. Thanks for sharing. It helps to know our June members.

Now that I have had 26 days to get to know the site better, post every day, participate in chat, etc...I really think I can do this!

I have been chewing since I was around 15 or so. I started with Kodiac in H.S., and then moved to Cope in College. Played rugby in college and almost the whole team chewed... I am 38 now and have a wonderful family. I had gotten to a point in my chewing that I would put in a dip and not need to spit...swallowed the shit. I did that to hide the fact that I had a dip in at work and at home.

The day I quit, I was on my way back from work (I take the train), and was putting in a dip. Just as I was putting in my dip, with my suit on, I spilled part of the tin on me and my seat... I looked around me and saw a number of people looking at me in disgust! Man, what a looser... That, and trying to constantly hide the sit from my two kids, family, etc...

This is a great site and helps me every day. I am going to beat this fucking thing, and each day this fight is making me stronger and stronger.

The one thing that I am going to try and do more now, is help others on the site rather than just sitting back and reading other posts to help myself.
Glad to have you in the June group. Keep paying it forward. Look forward to hearing more from you.
Stay close, stay strong, stay quit!
