Never said it, but one of the reasons I quit was a very suspicious sore in my mouth. Got it checked today and it's nothing of concern. Excited to no longer live in fear of every damn sore bump etc that pops into my mouth. Comin up on a week. Couldn't be more proud.
Congrats Kev. Don't be surprised if you have other sores over the next weeks of quitting your mouth is going through some serious healing and changing.

Congrats on 4 days! I had trouble sleeping early on ... Take advantage of that time and read the site. You will learn a whole bunch and it will wear you down eventually.

You are winning today. Freedom from nicotine is a beautiful thing. Finish off the day strong. Quit!

A lot of people use the herbal chew with great success. Fireballs are good too. What's the matter with your jaw?
I have severe TMJ. I get daily jaw pain and migraines as a result. Avoiding things like sunflower seeds and constantly moving my jaw help my symptoms. [/QUOTE]

Wow guys. I am overwhelmed with all of the support and positive feedback I have received. This is incredible. My confidence has gone up exponentially since my last post yesterday.

Thank you all for your support. It's only been a couple days and I am already feeling more confident I can do this.

Yesterday was a tobacco free day. About to do the same thing today.

The idea of having to go without a chew for the rest of my life seems like one of the hardest challenges I'll ever face.
Woooooo now! Emulator hit the nail on the head. Slow your roll my friend. Nobody, I mean nobody is asking you to quit forever. Post roll and quit for today, that's all anyone is asking. It's so much easier to look at this one day at a time.

Not going to lie, quitting is going to be one of the most difficult things you will ever face, but you will do it. 1000's have used this site to quit. Your no different than each and everyone of us.

I thought the same way as you. I thought, how is this even possible? Listen to my next statement. VERY IMPORTANT! The hardest part of quitting is believing it's possible and you can do it. Once you get over that hurdle it begins getting easier and easier.

Things will get better fast, believe it. Believe in yourself!

If you haven't, begin reading everything you can on addiction/nicotine. There is a lot of information on this site. Learn your enemy, it knows you. Begin knowing what to expect each step of the way. It's time to begin taking the fight to the enemy. For years you have let the poison sucker punch, kick and lead you around by a chain. By learning about your enemy you know when, how and what's coming. Lets take the fight to it for a change. Quit with you. Need another number let me know.
You've been given a lot of very good advice. Smokey Mountian turned out to be a lifesaver for me. I used it for a little over 100 days and then just lost interest. As far as forever, forget it! The all famous "Serinity Prayer" has a very much less known line;Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; I can testify to the truth of this, pre-quitting I either lived in the past or the future and never had the peace I can enjoy now.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

Kev,

Consider yourself lucky or smart, maybe both that you want to quit and you found KTC. Man I would have given a lot of money to someone other than US Tobacco if I would have been smart enough to quit only 5 years in. Had I found KTC sooner it might have saved me some cash and wasted time. Use whatever you need for the oral fixation as long as it does not contain the nicotine. I used Smokey Mountain, Fireballs and went Kojak for a while with blow pops. Whatever you need to keep the turd out of your lip man. Stay here, drink the koolaid and only worry about your quit today and you can make it with us. We do this together brother..........

I quit with you today!
