I never said I was still using the patch. From what I really on this site, its supposed to be about support, not degrade someone on how they do it. Not everybody 'Popcorn' quits the same. Thanks for the support, I seriously doubt I'll be back on here. Very discouraging
Those of us who have chosen the KTC to quit essentially do quit the same way - we post roll promising not to use nicotine for 24 hours. So if making a daily promise to people you don't know, and getting the tough love treatment isn't your cup of tea, then there are other sites. But if quitting an addiction that is killing you, joining an organization that is proven to work for thousands of people, and potentially making some good friends sounds good, stick around.

You'll take it on the chin here, I did my first couple of months. But 165 days later I am quit of a 17 year dose of poisoning myself. Well worth the pride I had to swallow.

We are not all friends here. But if I received a text or call from someone here I don't care for, I'm going to do whatever it takes to keep them quit, that's how the brother ship works.
Your right, we don't all quit the same but those that cave all cave the same; they succumb to the weakness of their addiction and introduce nicotine back into their body to satisfy the withdrawal pain. Your attitude towards critisizm isn't unusual. Part of withdrawal is to be defensive of our actions in an attempt to justify weakness. If your truly ready and you want to quit for Izzie act like an adult and cast off your childish ways and attitudes. I don't mean to be negative but rather offer seasoned advise. As a older addict that has kids older than you take my thoughts as advise you'd receive from a parent. Quit now, or you'll wake up some day and realize your getting old and still have that "can and chain" holding you back!

Izzie,

Congrats in the decision to quit. Now don't get discouraged by the way the guys have been upfront. That's how this place is, was and will be and the guys are just protecting what has worked. You said you had read up on the place so I figured you knew about the nic free anyway. I read your into and see a lot of myself in it. I grew up in a small town, farming and being outdoors was a way of life. From a very young age I dipped and dipped a lot. Here is where the difference comes in, you are 24, I am not. I wish I had quit at your age. Don't get discouraged we all want you to quit. If there is anything I can do to help just send me a pm. I quit with you today.

This site is amazing. The support you will receive is also amazing. The guys that have responded to you are bad ass quitters... Don't make a mistake and leave.

This is a lot easier to do as a team. If I can help let me know. I'm glad you are here...
So you're off the patch?

Well I quit 7 days ago, with the patch.

I read up on this site when I quit last week.
Nice intro, you are among thousands who feel the same way about quitting and getting started with their quit. But there are only 2 things thats stand out in that entire plea (see above).

You haven't quit yet. You might as well roll that patch up into a oblong shaped ball and put it between your lip and gum because it's the same fucking thing. You can come here and tell us you're addiction to nicotine isn't via dip but by patch and we'd get on you to quit the patch just the same.

Secondly, if you read up on the site like you said you did, then you would already have known all about what I just wrote.

So izzie, the ball is now in your court. a) Quit nicotine or b) do not quit nicotine. If a) continue reading and post roll If b) come back when you select a)

Well I quit 7 days ago, with the patch. I wrote down a list of reasons to quit for good. I am almost 24 and have periodontal disease. I've chewed grizzly wintergreen since I was 13. I grew up in a small town, farm town, with nothing to do but bon fires, alcohol, and chewing with your buddies. I stopped for 6 months about a year and half ago and picked it back up when I went hunting. Well back to the present. I recently got married to my beautiful wife Krystle after 7 years dating. She has always been there to support me, never made me stop, but encouraged me to quit. I stop and pick it back up after about a week, just like now. I bought a can and chewed once out of it and then get so angry with myself because I let myself down. I want to have a long life with my wife and future family. I'm tired of being somewhere and worrying about when I can throw a pouch in. I don't know how to enjoy me without it. I wish I would have never picked it up, I'm so sick of going to just get gas without seeing all the advertisement on the windows and by the gas pumps. This is such a horrible drug created by man and pushed by the government. They run ads on TV to stop, but then turn the other cheek. I'm having a hard time getting past the mental side, the physical part I can handle with gum, food and so on. I read up on this site when I quit last week. I'm tired of being paranoid and becoming a hypocondriac when I see road ads, TV ads about cancer. I'm scared to death. I'm glad I'm not in this alone. Thanks for listening to my rant.
No type of the nic whore allowed. Come back when you have kicked her to the curb. Sorry man.

We quit nicotine here. So if you are still using the patch then you are not quit. Is like an alcoholic quitting vodka and just going with wine instead. Same thing.

Rip off that patch and let's get your quit started. Read all about it here.
