Your profile really helped me understand that this is going to be harder than I thought
It's actually pretty easy. Let me show you how.....
Everyday you get in here first thing and promise not to ingest nicotine. Everyday you keep your promise. Repeat
I guarantee you know how not to do something daily.
Don't know you from Adam but I'm guessing you haven't pulled your dick out of your pants, opened a dresser drawer, inserted said pecker, and slammed it as hard as you could every day.
If you have a craving to go back to the can try the drawer. It will stop the crave instantly.

You go to the gym. Great! That doesn't mean you are intaking enough water. Drink tons of it! It will help with all your symptoms. It will not cure them. It will make them much less of a problem. Muscle pains require bananas or other high potassium foods. Muscle pain requires Fish or Omega 3 fatty acids. Not sure. Both. Withdrawal sucks dirty donkey balls. It is worth it. If you think about caving get on this site peruse the topics. If you want to talk to someone be sure to grab some fellow quitters numbers. Always keep this in mind. Your life was ruled by something that came in a can weighing around one ounce. Now, take something similar to that size, stand next to it. Yeah. Feels pretty foolish. I would do this with my clients except I would write a command on the joint/rock/whatever and they would have to do that command.

Congrats on the best decision ever! Post your promise daily.

Good call on the water. Thanks! I've noticed it helps quite a bit and symptoms seem to come back after drinking coffee, ect. Appreciate the advice, this sucks but it's worth it in the end. I hate nicotine. I'm staying quit. Despite that hate, its amazing how there is that instinct to reach for a chew when doing something as routine as getting ready to mow the lawn. The good thing is I'm conscience of it now. As quick as that instinct pops up I just remember that I am quit this time. It's only day 6 but I'm not going back.
Yeah, man, the use of any stimulant will make things 10x worse than they have to be. Stay with water, lemonade, OJ, whatever, but commit to being away from caffeine for the next 100 days or so and you'll find this won't be nearly as bad. Then again, you'll have no real basis for comparison, but you can simply trust me on this one, bro.

Drink water all day every day. Ever since I quit, I would carry a shaker cup (24oz blender bottle) with me everywhere I go and be sure to fill it up whenever it would run dry. I still carry it with me to this day. It's definitely one of the better habits I have adopted since quitting nicotine. Most people hate drinking water because they've so trained themselves to swill sugary drinks all the time, so depending on your relationship with water prior to quit, this may be an easy or difficult adaptation to make.

I take a magnesium supplement every night by a company called Natural Vitality. The product is called, simply, "Calm." I discovered this more than a month into my quit and when I did, it changed my nighttime routine right up to this very day. When mixed into a cup of hot water and consumed before bed, it helps to calm the body and mind down in preparation for sleep. It also helps with the many digestive issues that arise from quitting nicotine.

Give these things a shot and keep in touch, man. I'm pulling for you.

If there's anything I can do to help you let me know. I went through every imaginable mental withdrawal possible. Like Sam said, it's normal. There are natural supplements you can take to ease the anxiety. Check out to postings in the depersonalization thread under getting my act together for more info and links to some of them that may help you.

Sam thanks for sharing, I did go read your profile and it really helped. I never thought Nicotine had a grip on me like it does. I knew it be hard to quit but figured it was just going to come down to fighting the endless cravings. I never would of thought it would of hit me as emotionally as it did. Your profile really helped me understand that this is going to be harder than I thought, but I have no intention of going back chewing. Thats for sure.

RNGLock - Exactly how I've been feeling the past few days! I'm glad I found KTC and really am thankful to everyone for sharing. Just know this is par for the course and something I have to get through eases that anxiety.

Now I need to go figure out the roll call!

What you are experiencing is pretty much par for the quit. I found this site at 10 days into my quit, it was a real releif. There were a few times that I was convinced that in a matter of days, cancer had spread through my neck, jaw, into my brain, and was causing me to have a racing heart and panic attacks. I was a paranoid wreck. After reading what others were posting on the site, I started seeing that most of the people I was quitting with were experienceing the exact same things. Now that I'm 82 days in, I have never felt better.

Hi, all,

I'm not typically to one to worry or have anxiety, which is why this is bothering me so much. I've chewed Grizzly for about 10 years now. I typically went through a can about every 4 days. The last year I've cut back even more as I was chewing in secret after moving in with my fiance. Typically, one quick dip on the way home from work and maybe another late at night if I was the last one still awake.

So I threw my last can of chew away 4 days ago. I've done this before where I'd buy a can, take a chew and throw the can away. This time though I haven't went back and don't intend to. My problem now is the anxiety / paranoia. Day 1 I started having this dull pain in my left neck. Nothing severe and I tend to think I just strained something at the gym. But now I can't get this out of my head. I pop some ibuprofen and it goes away, but its there every morning since. It's really starting cause me to lose focus as my mind will race to the worse case scenario. Is this all part of the quit or should I be even more concerned? I know no one on here is going give medical advice, Just thought it might help to get some of your thoughts. I figure I'll wait this out a few days to see if it passes before I head to the Dr.

Appreciate your time!
Klobe, before you screw up like I did and put yourself deep in debt with completely unnecessary doctor bills (I had no insurance at the beginning of my quit), please click on this link to view my intro. I was overdosing on nic daily and it ultimately forced me into a quit, and I had NO idea what to expect so I wasn't ready for it. I panicked, I cried deeply until I couldn't breathe, and just generally freaked out every moment of the day.

It wasn't until I came here and started posting and got reassurance from these other badasses that what I was experiencing was normal. I went 41 days on my own until I found this place, and it took me another 40 on top of that to feel even somewhat human again.

I am here with you now, at 195 days quit, a new man with more vigor and zest for life than I have ever had. I wish I had the luxury of knowing what to expect in advance, but even through all the horror I experienced, I am glad to have experienced it, strange as that may sound.

I implore you, please read my intro and bear in mind throughout that I got better, and you will too. That's a promise.

Reach out when you need help, brother.

Sam

I remember all of that when i first quit. Jaw pain, tightness in my chest, some mouth sores but not bad and the list goes on. Remember what this feels like...so once you get through it (and you will) you wont EVER want to go through it again.

What you describe is pretty common. Give it some time. Quitting is stressful.

I have been having neck and jaw pains also. Sometimes severe. Also, this inside of my mouth is a sore mess. I think this is all just part of the process. Hang in there. I'm not planning on going to the doctor, but it sure couldn't hurt if that's what you decide.

You should start posting roll in the August group.
