What they said! Also private message (PM) others in your September 2013 quit group and exchange numbers to increase your accountability. We check roll for skippers and Text / PM or call to see what's up. 100% daily roll posting / 100% daily quitting is 100% expectation here. Good luck!

This site can help you kick your nicotine habit to the curb. We don't use words like try or hope as they are just another excuse for our addictive brains to tell us another lie. There are no short cuts, but here are some links that will help you navigate this site.

Your quit Decision MUST be 100% about you. Anything short of that sets you up for failure by allowing your addict brain to blame a given situation as reason for you to go back to the can. Quitting out of fear of a medical issue fades as soon as the doctor or dentist gives you a clean bill of health.

Here are some things that got me through the initial "suck period":

Find an alternative herbal dip. I dipped Copenhagen for 35 years and used the fake herbal dip to help with the oral fixation. Here is a list of Smokeless non-tobacco alternative Don't want to use a 'fake dip' then nuts, candy or gum might help

Start drinking a lot of water and do it every day
Be prepared for restless sleep

Need some motivation for your quit The meaning of QLF Get an attitude about it and quit that shit and do it every damned day (EDD)

Turn your introduction page into a journal by adding updates on your quit there * no need to open a 2nd intro page. If you didn't do an Intro- start one now! This is a great way to reflect on your quit success but also provides a trail to a new quitter.

Read, read, read! Visit the Welcome Center and learn about posting roll call. Visit the Live Chat and people in there can help you when they are in there.

Get rid of the word Hope and just make it Do!

Well here is the deal with KTC, we are basically a cold turkey program, we don't utilize nicotine replacement therapy such as nicorette gum.

We come in each day and promise to our brothers that we will remain quit for the rest of the day, the next day we come and do the same thing.

People come in here and bust balls, they go in the chat and talk about the issues they are having, they call fellow quit group members and ask for help. We remain quit one day at a time.

We have milestones, the biggest and the first is reaching 100 days quit without NRT, this is called the Hall of Fame, the time when you reach HOF is your quit group so if you quit today you would be in the September 2013 group.

When in your group you post roll call, this is your promise to quit today, tomorrow you come in and repeat. Remember, we are addicts, we are junkies to nicotine, it takes a strong will and assistance to stay quit.

I'm a 28 year old Marine Corps pilot. I decided to quit in Afghanistan. I recently had a pretty close call and figured that it was time to quit. I have been dipping for about 10 years and have gone from Skoal to Grizzly and Cope. At my peak I was cruising through 2 cans a day. Any words of advice on quitting are greatly appreciated...this is no fun.
