You have not quit before. You took a couple breaks. See the difference? You gotta be engaged 100%. That's what it took for me. I was quitting, first and foremost in every situation. Make some contacts and get some numbers around here. Get to know some people..... both vets and newbies. Accountability is what gets us through that bullshit craving at the corner store. The accountability and brotherhood quickly become stronger than anything the addiction can whisper in your ear. But..... you gotta get with the program.

Let me know if you need assistance.

This will be the third time I've quit. Each time it lasts about a year, then one day, sure as shit, at the cashier at the corner store and says, hey give me a can of Skoal long cut wintergreen. Then it's right back at it. Like it never stopped, know it?

I'm working on 28 hours right now. Been through this before, so I kinda know it. No more easy nor harder than before, it sucks all the same. This time, I'm living in central Mexico, so not only do I want to quit, I got no source for the shit. Sure they sell the generic shit for like $10 a can. Kinda like dippin' sawdust, knowhatimsayin?

ANyway, this time is it. I'm 40. No longer immortal. Sat next to a guy on a flight from Detroit a few weeks ago, he was a pilot with the Air Force who had quit a couple years back. Said he had a sit with the force doctor who said it was just a matter of time until he got the cancer in the mouth. Straight, matter of fact. Just a matter of time. No if, just when. Did it for him, and I guess it did it for me too.. Thanks guy.

Cheers all.

Flanker,

This is the place to be man. You need to read up on how this site works. We aren't stoppers here. We are quitters. It's the nicotine bud. You're addicted to it, and it knows how to sneak back into your life whenever she wants. There's a ton of folks on here that know how to tell that bitch to shut up and sit down. Know why? Cause we're all addicts dude, all of us.

I saw you commented on my intro, notably my rant. I hope you see that for what it truly was. I cussed and spit and raged a good bit, and that was probably pretty entertaining, but I really hope you read what the other people in that thread said too.

I'm only early into my first quit, but there are many here who have been where you have. They will save your life if you listen. But look man, there's people here for everyone. It's a diverse group. There's people here that you'll identify with, and there's those that will piss you right the fuck off. But all of them promise you they won't use nicotine today, including me.

You should read up some, see how this place works. When you're ready, go ahead and jump all the way in. No one's asked me for a credit card, although Gmann did mention something about "Handy J's"... whatever those are...but yeah man, don't be a pussy. Stop letting that bitch snatch you around whenever she feels like it, I mean...she IS KILLING you. And you DO KNOW IT. Why you keep going back is on you bro. But you're not alone. The next time she comes calling, she will be answered by you AND all your brothers, and we fight dirty.
