You sound like you are sorta wading into the waters of being quit. Great idea...but that ain't the way to do it. It is a life and death fight. You are saving your own life here. Get pumped.

The attitude you have when you start something largely determines your success. When you decide that you want freedom more than your next breath, you're ready to quit. JUMP IN WITH BOTH FEET!!!

Learn how and why we post roll. Then do it...everyday. Don't think about tomorrow, next week, next semester, or whatever. We'll deal with those when they get here. All you need to do it is give us your word that you will be nicotine free today. Then fight like hell to keep your word.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

Hi guys,

My name is Ryan, and I have been dipping for a little bit over a year now. I had tried it before that year started rarely doing it but started big my senior year of wrestling when I had to cut a lot of weight. Never been proud of it, always hiding it from my friends and family. It started by just doing it once a week on Thursdays when I would get home late after school, practice, and work. Then it became a bigger habit.

By the time I got to college, it got even worse. The beginning of the semester I did not do it for probably the first 3 weeks then I started again cause a friend offered me a lip. Then I started buying my own and doing it while I studied. Then I started attributing my good grades on exams and stuff to a stupid superstition that, "I do really well on exams when I dip." but I hardly ever gave myself a chance not to study without dipping. I'm on Christmas break and I told myself it would be a perfect time to quit. And I am a week away from school and I still haven't quit. I think I am going to be straight up with my parents and tell them about this tonight. I had a dip in today and just thought and felt ashamed that I threw it out and started looking. Found this place, and I know I can't say today is my quit day, but right now is when I start. And I want to quit. Bad.

Thanks, I guess it just feels nice to get it out there.
Hi Ryan, and welcome to the best decision you can make. You can check out this page to see that you are looking at coming up in the next few days and weeks.

How we quit here is very simple. You will go to the your quit group, which is April 2015 and you will post up a Day 1 in the New Quitters section. Details on how to do this can also be found in the Welcome Center. Your post, which you should do as soon as you get out of bed for the day, is your promise not to use nicotine in any form. Since you gave up your last dip today, you can count this as Day 1...which means you are about to enter the physical shit storm of getting the nicotine out of your system. I encourage you to go post roll and quit with us, and you will get support like you've never known.

Drink lots of water, Do what you need to do to stay quit. Stay close to the site...it will become a great friend for you.

Quit on.
