Thanks everyone! I'm def. ready to get this crap out of my life! I started back early on when I went to college and starting using it over cigs. Just preferred the buzz and feeling it gave me over cigs. After my first dip..I was pretty well sold on it. After seeing my Mom die from cigarette use, I'm wanting to cut this habit from my life before it gets even more addictive.
I've noticed it causes some nasty stomach issues, wicked heart burn. I'm sure it causes more than I don't even notice. It's just been such a stress reliever lately and I think that's whats going to make it most difficult to quit. And it's also become a routine when I fish, kind of a relaxer to just complete the relaxation of fishing.
Anyways, glad I found out about this place so I have some support in quitting! Look forward to talking to you all and getting to know you. I will check out the Tom Kern story right now.
I wish someone referred me to this site at such a young age...heed that advice and advice from all others here. You can do this, you must WANT to do this. Get it done just today and we'll be quit with you. And you know what, we'll be quit with you tomorrow too! Good luck and welcome

Hey everyone, glad to be here. My names Jordan and I've chewed since I was 18. *22 now* A friend of mine referred me here and I'm excited to get some support. I guess for me dip was something I always do when I go fishing, camping, watching the game, when I get stressed. I normally chew anywhere from one to two cans a day.
Starting last year..the mild habit became a daily, weekly occurrence. Every where I went, everything I did I had a dip in. I mainly chewed Cope straight long cut and Grizzly wintergreen long cut. Sometimes Kodiak wintergreen as well. Tried quitting a few times and so far no luck. Looking forward to meeting all of you! And getting off this crap for good!
Congrats. It's good you're quitting before you get older, have a family, kids, wife, etc. Hang in there. Don't give in. Read Tom Kernstory. I just bought Hooch for the cravings. It's a non nicotine herbal chew. You may want to try that. I will let you know how it is.
Dip Quit Date - January 8, 2016; Here's to better days ahead! Phillipians 4:13

All men dream but not equally,
Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their mind wake to find it was all vanity,
But the dreamers of the day are dangerous men,
for they may act their dreams with open eyes to make it reality...

Welcome, Fisherman!

We quit cold turkey. So toss every form of tobacco and every other nicotine source. There is no such thing as "luck" when it comes to quitting. We quit one day at a time with sheer determination and force of will, and the strong accountability of our quit brothers.

Your quit group will be May 2012. Check out the information on posting roll in the WELCOME CENTER (upper left) and go to May, posting your promise to not ingest nicotine today.

The first days will suck, but your life is worth the fight!
