  • Interests: I was addicted to nicotine for about 19 years before I actually realized that I was an addict to a drug. Allen Carr helped open my eyes with LionHeartedGirl (my sister). I am currently on day 2 and because of the frame of mind and different point of view that "The Easy Way" has given me, I don't doubt for one moment that I have ingested the last bit of that weed for the rest of my life. I am 35 now and am setting a goal of living long enough to have saved $100,000 because of my quit. At the same time, I am setting the goal of not smoking TODAY! One step at a time, while keeping my eyes on the horizon.

Starting over has got to be a bitch - might suggest you keep this updated and stay plugged into to this site daily .  That message is not just for you but for everyone here.  If we take our eye off the ball, we wind up swinging at the air

The Al man, you should really try to connect more to the people here. I'm not seeing any posts on your introduction since 2011 and you are obviously starting over. PM me if I can help at all and I'll give you my phone number. I'll also walk you thru the process of posting roll if you don't get it. Be a member brother, not just a "post and run". If you are being involved via chat and PM, than great. Ignore me. If not, get off your ass and take your quit seriously. (this time)
Al, being fairly new here myself, I overlooked a major part of this group. Accountability for if/when you cave and come back to us. You have a responsibility to us to explain 3 things truthfully and in detail.

What happened?

Why did it happen?

What are you going to do differently this time?

Last time you obviously didn't follow the rules and before anyone in this group wastes our time trying to hold you up and support you, we all need to hear what the hell happened last time. I don't want one of the new successful quitters to waste one minute focusing on someone that isn't in this for real or that doesn't have his head on straight. We're all waiting. Post your answers in the November thread by hitting the "Add Reply" button and spelling out the answers to those 3 questions. You are not a special butterfly. You are no different than the thousands of cavers that came before you. Don't take it personally or get pissy with us. Take your licks like a man and let us hear where your mind is at.
We're all waiting to see if you are full of shit or really ready. 'Popcorn'

All is well and my quit is stronger than ever. This was the hardest craving I have faced but it has passed. This is day 32 and the crave I just dealt with came out of nowhere. My friend, a non chewer, went missing midway through a supportive text convo we were having and for the first time since I've been quit, I thought that a tin would solve my problemS. my problems are real and they still are very real. I believe everyone of us has real problems. Chewing at this moment will hurt my mouth, take my money and not help solve any of my problems. Fuck you chew you are a bitch, I am not. Luby, you have bEen a great help
Al Man...Glad you got through your crave and that you did the right thing and reached out. You have my number if you ever need it again (sorry I didn't get your PM until this morning). Stay strong brother...glad to be quit with you.

Using Nicotine is not an option. This will pass. Go do something to keep your mind off it. I remember that I would always just go to bed if it was late at night or I would take a nap during the day. I couldn't use nicotine if I wasn't even awake! Seriously though, just gut it out, take it minute by minute if you have to. It will pass. Every time you resist a crave, you will gain confidence and your quit will become that much stronger. The craves will become less and less intense. You got this man.

9th day of quit and I'm feeling good. No big cravings and this site is why. I am on here every hour sometimes many times an hour and It definitely helps.

To the vets, love you guys. Your commitment is uplifting. Im approaching my quit and living life one day at a time, but I would say on record, to myself more than anyone else, that I will one day be one of the vets posting 4 figure roll calls. This won't be accomplished without daily roll call and overall involvement in the site. One day at a time. To the newer quitters, wow! I'm amazed at the way almost everyone here gets it. I see guys like aglawyer, jmac and pokerLeader, among others, and it gets me pumped up. To everyone here, let's go! Lucky to be quit with you guys.
That is how to quit! I still spend hours at a time on this site. I am starting my day getting fired up to quit for the day! Way to use the tools here. My only regret about KTC is that I didn't find it sooner.
Great job, I will quit with you today.
