I was having issues with anxiety and my health and my Dr's actually told me not to stop.
I don't understand the medical advice to remain on nicotine; the doctors could have prescribed something for the anxiety which is much less addictive than nicotine. I don't think nicotine is approved by the FDA for any indication. As folks will say on this site over and again, the only thing nicotine does is treat withdrawal symptoms from the nicotine addiction. Take a chance of KTC to help with your anxiety from withdrawal. Many of us had it. Most of us can relate.

Throw your hope straight in the garbage. Hope doesn't work. Give us your word every morning and keep your word every day. It's so simple even I can do it. You can too.

Drew,

Welcome to KTC. You are correct, this site can be best tool you have, I suggest you read as much as you can, get to know some fellow BAQ (Bad Ass Quitters). Personally I couldn't have done it without the support and accountability this site provides. As Rawls said Post Roll Every Day, this is your promise to stay quit, one day, one hour, one minute at a time. The only way you can screw up Role is not posting. You will be in the Pre HOF September Group, there are already a lot of BAQ in the group ready to help.

Drew, I have never been part of a board before either and took me a good while to figure it out because I didn't ask. Don't be like me.

There are some good you tube videos on posting roll from a computer and a phone.

Proud to quit with you brother (UK fan as well)

PM me for anything.

Corbin

I appreciate the support fellows. Like I said I made it several weeks prior without any real issues. Maybe I hadn't quite made it to the hard times but from reading others experiences all day today, this site may be the most valuable tool I have for the struggles ahead. If I could only figure out how to work this thing. Never been part of a message board.

Welcome Drew...
Great intro and your story sound like most.
Couple things to think about. You have never quit! You stopped a couple times.
Stopping is not racing. Quiting is racing. (sorry another subject).
Also know you are an addict, that's addicted to the second strongest drug to man other than heroine.
You are gonna have some issues, just like the rest of us did.
Those first days SUCK!
Learn to love the SUCK.
It will SUCK till it doesn't.

Drink lots of water.. Stay off coffee and alcohol for a while.
And eat anything slower than you.
Anything in your mouth is better than cancer.

You need to quit... It will kill you. You can do it here. These are the best quiters in the world.
Listen to them.... Read everything they write. Learn all you can.

Also learn to post roll here topic/11155274/
Do it every day... Early.... Don't ever miss roll.
Do this for you.... Nobody else.

I quit with you today.
Rawls 197
I believe.....

3rd time has to be the charm
« on: June 02, 2015, 10:01:00 AM »
So I am 31 years old and been a dipper since I was around 14 or 15. Never went a day without a dip, usually around 6-8 dips a day for the entire 17 years. I have a 3 year old daughter and I promised myself that I would quit the day I had a child. I did give it a shot about 6 months after she was born and made it about 6 weeks no problem with a couple rolls of smokey mountain. One day for some reason and without much thought I had a dip. Up until then I stuck with skoal, wolf, grizzly etc but after that first quit they didn't seem to do it for me anymore. So I got stuck on copenhagen long cut. Been dipping that for the last 3 years and tried to stop about this time last year and didn't make it very far. I was having issues with anxiety and my health and my Dr's actually told me not to stop. The last couple weeks my gums have been killing me and I have had a strange bitter/sour taste in my mouth constantly and find myself sitting around worrying constantly that I have waited too long to quit. So, without any plans in place I got pissed off and threw my can in the trash at the office yesterday and ran straight to Walmart after work to grab the entire stock of smokey mountain. Hopefully I haven't waited too long to quit, and hopefully this is the LAST time I quit.
