We are addicted to nicotine. Just like an alcoholic doesn't quit getting wasted on vodka by switching to beer, we don't ingest nicotine. Period. It's the only way. Anything short of cold turkey, no nicotine isn't really quitting and just prolongs your agony as you try to "ween" yourself off nic. It's like ripping off a band aid. Rip that sob and get it over with in one fell swoop.

You can do this.

As for chantix, I'll let someone with experience speak to it, but I've heard of too many side effect horror stories to think its a good idea for most people. Just quit right this second. You don't enjoy dipping. You just don't enjoy the physical withdrawals that hit you when you aren't dipping every waking hour of the day. We all have been through it. If a total puss like me can it, you can do it.

Flush all nic, read the welcome center link above and go hit roll call. Yell if any questions. Seriously, go read and hit roll call today. Not worth one more minute of putting those cat turds in your lip and paying money to UST to slowly poison you to death.

Hi guys, pretty neat site here. I've been chewing for almost 18 years and it's time to stop this nasty habit. I guess I chew about a can a day. I think I'll try to taper off for a while. Has anybody had any luck with the gum or patches, even Chantricks maybe? My job has lots of free time and I work 4 on 3 off ads a fire watcher so on days on I have no internet or phone, just a radio do I cant get on the internet from work. Next shift starts tomorrow and I think I'll bring like 3/4 of my normal supply, bacuse there isn't any stores out there so I'll have to make do with that. I think i'll really stop 100% on August 1. Just wanted to stop by and say hi and thanks ahead for any advise. See you in 4 or 5 days, maybe tomorrow before I head out. oh, yeah, I'm kind of a big guy. did any of you gain weight when you gave it up? I'm curios because I really need to drop some weight, too.
