I do teach for a living ( but refuse to use proper punctuation on this site) and have researched culture change. An interesting point to culture change (which is why we are here) is that it takes time to create a "culture of chewing" and will take an equal amount of time to recreate the " culture of quitting". My point is that I have a lot of work to do...I just hope and pray I don't rip someone's head off in the process! Lol
Gonna touch on a couple of points here from your original post (and need to see you today to give your word).

I used for over 23 years, was my whole adult life. When I finally quit I discovered for myself it was 2 prong: 1 the addiction and 2 the oral fixation. So no you were not addicted to the fake as there is no chemical in that to hold you to it. It was the oral fixation that kept the door open. But the good point for this is, start by attacking this one at a time, Use what you must to get through the addiction and the withdrawl. Then once the nicotine is at low level and out of your system, then you can work on the oral fixation part. Me I used the fake for 90 ish days, then just one day set it down. Rarely had used it then. Heck I still have a desk full of it, just cause I had stocked up but have not given it away (will still keep 1 fake around for worst case crave).

Yes lean on those of us here that have been through it or are going through it. Share experiences as you progress. And you will be surprised that on days you feel strong you will also help others.

Yes change does take time, this is not a sprint to quit, this is a marathon. During this marathon though learn each day how to handle the stresses and scenarios that life will throw at you. It is that learning that will keep you ahead of the game and will keep you from going back.

Now give your word each and every day and re-learn how powerful your word can be.

BL 38 year slave here. I will start off by saying welcome to some awesome day's in your future! I'm 309 days free and just like you, I tried numerous times to quit but the all turned out to be short stoppages, until I found ktc. Look , take what you have here, it's fantastic but you have to want this more than anything at the moment. Put forth alot you will receive alot. In the end I will say it saved my life. Post roll my friend we're all waiting anxiously! I quit with you today!
Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD

Big L, welcome! The most important thing you can do is post roll in your February 2016 Quit Group. There are videos posted on Youtube on how to post roll on KTC. Posting roll will take dip off the table for today. It really is that simple. Stay busy, drink lots of water, cranberry juice is good too early on. I would also strongly recommend reading a book by Joel Spitzer about Nicotine, Addiction, and Independence. I'd wait until you start to come out of the fog and can retain information. Also, find healthy things to do to keep your mind off chaw. Get in the weight room, run, hit a bag, etc.
By the way, you will LOVE the new you. Turns out life is great without poison in your mouth... who would have guessed!??

Big L, welcome! We're glad you found us as well. Many teachers on this site -- you will fit in fine.

The way you change "culture" is by committing to the change one day at a time, every damn day. (ODAAT, EDD). You do that by posting your promise to no use nicotine for 24 hours in th February 2016 quit group. (You will all get to 100 days together in February). Post right when you wake up -- just like you have been dipping.

Then exchange digits with fellow quitters, we support eachother. Each of us quits for ourselves, but we don't do it alone.

Drink lots of water and exercise, the first days are rough. Document your experience in this intro -- it will help you later.

Aim your rage here, we can take it and understand it.

After 35 years of dip,mi quit with you today!

I've been looking to divorce my marriage to Cope for a long time and I feel this site may be the answer!

After reading an hour of posts  writing this post, I'm gonna get up and spit this dirt for the last time!
