After 5 years of dipping Grizzly finally decided it was time to quit the habit.  I know a lot of people have been hooked for a lot longer but I'm sure it'll still be a bitch trying to quit after 5 years as well.  Just going to keep taking it one day at a time.

Howdy aj,

My name is Chris and I chewed for over 31 years and was up to 3 cans a day of Grizzly when I decided to quit 314 days ago.  It does not matter if you chewed for 5 years or 50 years, it will still suck in the beginning.  That is what this forum was created for, to have others to lean on when the suck gets bad.  The price of admission to this forum is to post your promise daily in your quit group to not use nicotine for the day, keep your promise and then come back the next day and do it all over again.

One thing you need to realize though is that you are an addict and nicotine is not a habit but an addiction.  The only habit you have is you like to put things in your mouth.  Well let me tell you brother, there are a lot safer things you can put in your mouth. (No sexual innuendo implied, or maybe it was)

So come join the rest of us addicts and post roll today.  If your quit date is November 21 or earlier, then your group is February '19, if your quit date is November 22 or later, then your quit group is March '19

Hope to see you in there,

Chris aka chris2alaska

Welcome!

"Only" five years. Weird to say isn't it? "I only poisoned myself for five years"

You're in the right place. I don't care if you dipped for 5 months, 5 years, or 50 years. Once that nasty chemical gets into your bloodstream and your brain and starts rewiring things, you become an addict. Sucks doesn't it?

The GOOD news is that you're in the right place. Your attitude of "Just going to keep taking it one day at a time" is exactly what you need to have. That's exactly what we do here at KTC.

You've started an intro. That's a great start. The next step is to post roll, make your promise to be quit for today, and then keep that promise. In fact, KTC itself is pretty straightforward:

1) Wake up
2) Piss
3) Post roll
4) KEEP YOUR WORD
5) Repeat daily

If you can do this, ONE DAY AT A TIME, you will be quit. It's worked for me for the last 425 days, so I know it will work for you as well. You didn't mention when you quit, so I'm not sure which quit group to direct you towards in order to post your promise today. The dates below are links, simply click on the one that applies and it'll take you to your group:

If you quit between 9/24 and 10/24 click here

If you quit between 10/25 and 11/21 click here

If you quit between 11/22 and 12/22 (this is the current group) click here
