Go brother Go. I quit last night, 24 hours ago. I just found this site. Today was rough and could only work half day I felt so shitty. I never broke though. Let's do it together.

Welcome.

We're roughly the same age, and dipped roughly the same number of years, and a year ago I sat exactly where you are. So --- quitting can be done even in your mid 40s, and even after a quarter century of use. Embrace the suck, and remember what it feels like, and commit to never going through it again.

I see you posted roll. It's confusing at first, but after a while it will become second nature. Keep posting roll Every Damn Day. Wake Up, Piss Post. Make it a ritual that replaces the ritual of putting in your first dip of the day. And remember, posting roll is making a solemn promise to not dip for the rest of the day. Keep your word, reach out when you need help, refuse to cave.

The system works if you jump in with both feet, and drink the Kool-Aid.

April is shaping up to be a great group. Get to know the guys in there. The are your fellow soldiers in battle, and it will be a battle.

Proud to be quit with you.
Thank you very much for the message and encouragement. Good to know others have my back even on Day 1.

Peace,

BOOM

BITCHHHH of a day but still in the game. I have never gone cold turkey before or at least that I recall. I have a stack of nicotine gum that I always switched to but that shit never worked for me. So when I found this place and understood my promise was ZERO nic moving forward I knew I was in for something I haven't experienced before.

I can't tell you how many times today I was going to cave. The thoughts are......fuck this, start tomorrow, start next week, you aren't ready, yada yada fucking yada.

Well, I didn't break and at 12:00 midnight central time it will be 24 hours with no nicotine whatsoever. Again, always had the gum or a patch so this is a mind fuck for sure.

Please excuse my language as I really don't mean to offend anyone and usually don't curse so much but wow.

Okay, almost one down and I know from past experience day 1 is far from the hardest (and that was when I had the gum and or patch) so day 2 and 3 will likely take everything I got and then some. ...Frack,, forget I just typed that, it is all about today and today only,........and I am a few hours away from kicking its ass!!!!

Peace,

BOOM

Day 1 and here I go
« on: January 19, 2017, 11:01:00 AM »
Well, today is Day 1 for me so the journey is starting. Background, started dipping at 21 and I am 45 so roughly 24 years and at least a tin a day.

Family has begged me to quit for years and I have wanted it for myself and them even longer. I promise I have tried well over 100 times to quit and failed.

Anyway, I found this site this week, read it everyone night, and set today as the day. I also purchased some Smokey Mountain which is much better than I ever imagined and bought a roll of Hooch that will arrive today.
