You guys are right, quit is no nic period. Don't remember the last cigar anyways, further in the past then the last dip, so still ending Day 2 over in Germany dip and all nic free.
Glad to hear it man!! I know you did not think that a cigar was hurting you. But the truth is nic is nic. I realize and know people who quit on patches slowly going from higher nic patches to lower nic patches and eventually going off nic all the way. I certainly am not knocking what worked for them. But here it is as you see a nic free group that offers as much support as you want and need. It sucked especially the first couple weeks for me but has gotten better. I am NOT saying I still dont get cravings or have a bad day here and there. But it is worth quitting mainly for yourself and as a added bonus for those who know and love you. Keep it going!!

Well, today was Day 1 without dip.  With the fighting me and the wife would always get into about it, I was down to only dipping at work.  Proud to say that, being in Germany now, work is now up, and since I don't have any dip at home, I can call day one a sucess.

Also, I'm liking doing my Roll Call first thing in the morning.  It keeps me honest.  If I waited until the end of the day, I have a feeling that would give me the excuse to cave and then not post for the day.  However, by already posting, I would have to go back and let everyone know I caved after posting, and that's something my pride won't let me do haha.
Go get it Dave, this is your quit! Own that shit, and thanks for your service.
Curious, saw on your likes that you like good cigars. Is that something you still do? Just curious because know for me any type of nic would set me back. Hoping you are completely nic and tob. free!
Good catch Liberty!!! Dave, we are Nic free brother, not just chew free. Let us know.....
Guys, yes I do still enjoy fine, premium, handrolled cigars. It is something that I'll do maybe once a month, nothing that I feel has ever led me into more dipping or a dependancy upon them. It's usually on a weekend and in nicer weather and in a happy place. Dip, on the other hand for me is on the job, any sort of stress, and something that is a constant in my mouth all day long.

Maybe I'm doing this wrong and maybe at some point the cigars should go too, but for me I don't feel I have a dependancy on them as I know I do with the dip, and I know that while they do contain Nic, premium cigars are 100% aged tobacco (which reduces the Nic content), and they have no addetives that help to get the Nic into your system and keep you hooked.
Dave man that's Bullshit!!That is an addict's way of justifying Nicotine. You can't be a alcoholic and say "well its just beer, not hard alcohol"??? WTF man see how stupid that sounds. You are an addict of Nicotine not chewing tobacco. The site doesn't say "you can't chew but you can stick a pack of smokes up your ass if you need your fix". Quit is Quit bro.You can't do this half ass-ed. Your worth giving it all up.
Jay is right Dave. I used to really like cigars as well, I threw that shit out with my chew brother. Hell ten years ago, a cigar killed a year quit for me. KTC is nic free.

First of all thank you for serving our country! Second I'm glad you are here and doing this for you. I'm a new quitter too (coming up on day 3), I've tried before but never for ME, until now.

I've been a slave to the NicBitch since I was 15, I'm 22 now. For almost 1/3 of my life I've been a fucking addict. I don't know if I would have even made it this far if it wasn't for this community. The guys, and gals, on here are great. We are all going through the same shit or have already been through it. Do whatever it takes, JUST STAY QUIT!!

PM me if I can help. I'm not a quit veteran, but I'll do whatever I can.

I quit with you!

Little about myself, I'll keep it short:

Father was career military, went to high school and college in Wyoming, joined the Wyoming Army National Guard, and that's where the dipping started.

Was able to aviod the dip through high school, but being around 90% of my army buddies dipping did me in. Started on some loose leaf, like Levi Garrett or Red Man, then to Skol, then on to the Cope. Got up ot almost a can a day at my worst.

After college went into the active duty army, now married with a 3 year old and one more on the way, been dipping for about 10 years, tried to stop a few times on my own unsucessful because the wife wanted me to, always led to some big fights. Doing this for me now, not for anyone else.

Oh, and if you don't get a timely response from me, I'm stationed overseas, so the time difference is there from me to most of you I am sure.
