I have to be honest with you all, I don't really support banning tobacco in this way. Sure, I hate tobacco and don't think anyone should use it. I do however, support peoples rights to use it if they choose.

Now don't get me wrong, when Michigan banned smoking indoors I was very happy the next time I went to some of the bars. I know this is a little different than sporting events.

Also, I never once had a friend that dipped for any reason related sports. If anything, the only people I knew who ever did it to be "cool" or follow a trend, it was the girls in high school smoking because it was glamorized in the movies.

If it does get banned, I hope it is not banned by the league. I hope each team makes their own no tobacco policy on the field so that it is not a totalitarian decision by the league.

This week on HBOs sports reporting show Real Sports they will be doing a story on smokeless tobacco in MLB.

Basically the story is about - Why is this custom still permitted in MLB and why do so many players still use in light of the well documented risks, and the effect usage by the games elite has on young players.

Here is a link to the synopsis:

I think the use of Chew (Kodiak and Grizzly) was maining a stress reliever for me.  I feel like I am in the red and could snap at just about anybody today.
I feel you there brother. Chew for me was a way to relax and feel calmer. Just hang in there brother. I'm right here with you. 48 hours so far.
Fuck that, that's what the nicotine bitch wants you to think. Nicotine in any form pumping through your viens and raising your blood pressure will not in fact, calm you down. Your quitting is the best thing you can do. Stop reminiscing about how good it felt. Break free of your master. Onward to sucessful quit.

well said rebeldog!
Nicotine adds stress....to every organ in your body. 'Finger' the nic bitch.
What you all have said to Phillips is all very true but I think y'all missed the point. He wasn't really reminiscing about the good ole days per se he was trying to draw a connection to a fellow addict. I know where Phillips is coming from though, dipping done the same thing for me when I was under a lot of anxiety. Problem was the nic bitch told me filthy lies everytime I fingerbanged her plastic crotch. She told me that she calmed me down. That all I needed to do was put a fatty in and it would all be ok. Problem was she was a lying whore. Phillips, these guys are right though, you need to put dipping memories far behind you. Thats history and quit is the future. Everytime the nic bitch comes and teases you 'boob' look at that bitch and say 'Finger'
Follow the steps grasshoppa

You feel stressed

stress hormones eliminate nicotine from your bloodstream.

you go into withdrawl- irratibility, anxiety, dip rage, lack concentration, blah blah

you chew, and relieve the WITHDRAWL symptoms.

you feel better

you mistakenly believe that the chew helped you cope with stress.

Nope, stress is still there, you just relieved the withdrawl symptoms.

Now wash rinse and repeat until your dumb ass learns that nicotine isn't good for anything but keeping you addicted to nicotine. In my case 23 years.
Fuck,

There is no great way to explain this to someone in your shoes.

Nicotine/dip only does one thing... prevents withdrawal symptoms.

Seriously, you are addicted to feeling normal. Even when you say the dip calms you. It does not calm you, it calms your withdrawal.

Calming you requires ridding your body of the nic bitch and finally ripping her nipples off.

"CLOSE THE DOOR. In my opinion, it?s the single most important step in your final quit. There is one moment, THE moment, when you finally let go and surrender to the quit. After that moment, no temptation will be great enough, no lie persuasive enough to make you commit suicide by using tobacco."

I ordered a log of Hooch Herbal chew yesterday and am waiting not so patiently on it to get here.  Cannot find any herbal chew anywhere, I have been in every convenience store and wal-mart in the area., and that is never easy considering my physical state and my state of mind.  Should have planned better...
Right there with you. I'm coming up fast on 24 hours. Ordered some hooch before noon and figured I could leave work early and find some herbal snuff somewhere. Fukkin mega fail.

Could have prepared better but screw it. By the time 2:00 pm rolled around that was already the longest I had been without a dip in a decade. Not turning back now, but I sure as hell am looking forward to the arrival of some fake dip to pacify my mouf.
Welcome! I am just clearing Day 8. Day 1 and 2 were hell, Days 6 and 7 were really tough (weekend). It will not be easy, Sunflower seeds were a big help, and I actually prefer them over Hooch at times, but to each his own.

Good luck and stay accountable here.

If you need some support let us know.

Ordered these on Friday and received the Mocha today! A little wetter than I expected, but flavor is pretty straight forward. I like that it is in a pouch, that Hooch gets everywhere in my teeth (never a fan of fine cut).

First impression on the Mocha is = not bad not good. I did just spit out a Hooch Spitfire to try this one, do I could have that lingering. Impressed w/ the quick delivery (at no extra charge).

Looking forward to the Mint Chocolate.

BTM99- Day 8 is nearly done!
