Hello,

James here in the great state of Colorado. I will reach the 72 hour quit point by the end of this post. I've been a steady can-a-day dipper for 20 years. The last several years I've been stuck on Cope Wintergreen. I had surgery on my lower gums a couple years ago for gum recession....but that didn't even stop me. I just started dipping on the top. I came to enjoy taking uppers better anyway. I made the decision last week that enough was enough. My wonderful wife got me a care package of toothpicks, gum, seeds, candy, smokey mountain, etc. I had my last dip on Friday @ 10:00pm. It has been an awful three days since. Virtually no sleep on Saturday and Sunday night. I'm pissed, tired, irritated, constipated, confused, and all the above. This is no joke!

However, I can see (a little) light in that tunnel way down there. I can tell that reading other experiences on this site will help me get through. I'm not alone! There are others going through this as well. I hope I can help and you can help me.

Not sure what I need to do from here. I keep reading about roll call and other stuff. Maybe it's the fog but not 100% sure where to go from here?

Anyway, please wish me good luck and I'll do the same for all of you.
Bump.

As you near the HOF...just wanted to bump this to the front as a reminder to remember where you started. Quit on, November brother.

No luck here James. You can do this. The question is this: How bad do you want it? Are you sick  tired of being sick  tired? Let's get our QUIT on!

Not wishing you luck! We quit simply by pure will power and determination. Luck leaves failure as a possibility. Grind it out day by day.
James, good luck. The methods we use here really work. I have been quit for over a year after 26 years of dipping, so I know you can do it too. Two words of advice. First, Post roll every day. This is the foundation of the site. You promise us and we all promise you that will will quit all nicotine for one day. Then the next day we do it again. What happenes on a lot of fails is posting roll becomes a once in a while sort of thing....don't fall into that trap, make your promise and post. It really will help fend off caves when you know you made a promise. Second, you'll hear the phrase "embrace the suck" around here. It basically means that quitting is hard, but instead of feeling sorry for yourself realize that you are accomplishing something that is really hard, embrace the hardships because you are owning them. Good luck brutha.
