Holy fuck, what do I do? What if I fail?

The good news for you is that me and Devil Doc down there just hit 1,000 days today so you stepped into it big fucking time my friend. This is like the lottery or some shit.... You wandered in on the site's 6th Birthday and my and Docs 1,000th day quit.

You're here so that means you need to quit. Something brought you here whether a little sore in your mouth that won't heal, you're facing mortality and the reality that you must quit or die, maybe realizing that your family means more to you than some insidious disgusting cancer causing drug...you know, that kind of thing.

Here's your path for the next few hours. After that, start reading every single word in every single group and every single thread on this site.

1.) Quit...right fucking now. That's what you do.

2.) Spit the shit out, throw the shit away and then post up roll and promise not to use nicotine for the day. That's how you do it.

3.) You don't fucking cave for nothing nor nobody. To do so after posting your promise would mean shitting and pissing all over your quit brothers to whom you broke your promise. Men, real men, don't do that.

4.) Sign a quit contract then get numbers and contact information from every swinging dick on this board. If you get a crave and decide to grow a vagina and want to dip, well then you have to call your family and let them know that you have chosen to kill yourself with tobacco because you love it more than you love them. Then, you have to get permission from three of your quit brothers before you can put the shit in your pie hole. If you're still standing at the convenience store counter staring at the wall of death at that point, well then go ahead and drop to your knees and give big tobacco some head, cause you'll be their bitch forever.

Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life...post up and quit with us. We got your back.

How do you do it? You start by WANTING to quit. If you don't WANT to, then you're fucked. Also don't ask "what happens if I fail?" When a kicker in the nfl lines up to kick a game winning fg they don't say in their head "Don't miss it, don't miss it, don't miss it, don't miss it..." Thinking that is setting yourself up for failure.

They say "all right BITCH, I am gonna nail this shit right down the middle, win the game, and walk of the field a fucking hero!".

You have to come at this with the right attitude before you start. I know this because I DID NOT, but eventually did and suffered like a mother fucker when I shouldn't have had to.

Post roll, READ READ AND READ some more, and then ask us for help when you are having trouble. That would be a good start.

PM me anytime if you need anything.

What are you talking about? Are you letting your mind set you up for a failure! If you make a promise to stay quit by posting roll failure that day is unacceptable! If you stick around and participate you will most certainly see what happens when someone caves!! Cavers do not get a free pass. If I were to post roll and then cave I would expect my pain to be even grater than my original first weeks of quit, and they sucked bad. That is one motivation I have to remaining quit. If you have balls dump your shit, post roll, get active, don't even consider caving as an option, get numbers of other quitters and keep your word! Yesterday is gone tomorrow is too far away quit today!!!!

OK, I'll be straight with you, what you are going to read is cut and pasted from a reply I wrote to another quitter just 2-3 days ago. I think you will see how it fits YOU...and it fit MOST OF US when we came here looking for help to quit for good.

****************************************

Let me say a little to you so that you can relate to me a bit. First, I was a corpsman with the Marine Corps. I started dipping in order to get nicotine but still be able to run - something smoking just didn't allow. Besides, a lot of my devil dogs dipped, too.

Now, let's talk straight up. For you to say you are "powerless" over dip is TOTAL BS. THAT is the addict in you CONTINUING to rationalize your addiction and tell you that YOU are a failure and weak. BS. If you want to believe that, then do it somewhere else. YOU have to KNOW that you are strong enough to kick the shit out of this addiction. You have to embrace the QUIT - the same as when you would force yourself through those runs and when that gunny was all over you about whatever you were sucking at.

Don't you dare come in here and not give 100%. Don't you dare come in here and become a member of this brotherhood and then let us down by caving or not giving 100% to the quit.

Yeah, I guess when guys come in here saying they were military - especially Marines - I hold them to a higher standard that the others. Is it right? Some might say no, but those of that have been there KNOW that this is NOT ONLY RIGHT BUT REQUIRED. So, welcome aboard. Strap it up and come ready to fight - for yourself and everyone else you support by being a brother here.

Imagine if an AA group told an alcoholic not to come back if they relapsed!
I don't think that program would be 2 million strong right now.

It all starts by dumping that shit down the drain and posting your day 1 pledge in your quit group. Then go to the welcome center and read up about how things work around here. People here quit 1 day at a time. Get a lot of contact numbers from your group for support. Ultimately you are responsible for keeping your word to your group. 1 day at a time. You can do it if you really want to quit and live a life free from nicotine.

There is a whole bunch of marines and servicemen who have quit and are part of this web site. Why not take control back and join up?
Enough is enough. Time to take control back from the nic bitch. My HOF speechGR8WHITEBUFFALO
