Damn, I haven't been called a boot in some time and as for soft as shit.... Well I will say I was a bitch to this shit for too long. But I'm back, and just wanted to say thanks for the kick in the head, seem to need it every once in a while.
Now your talking. Keep your ass on roll every day. Check your inbox. Text if you need to. This weekend will be tough. Show me you aren't soft, Devil. You got this.

I can call you boot. I got out before you got in lol

Semper Fi
No shit, boot! I got out, went back in, and was just getting out again when you were off to PI.

Check my signature line, Marine. Plenty of us here. Stop in and give a SITREP.
What is your major malfunction?!?!?!?!

So in other news, as part of me quitting this crap, my wife came on here and did some research. I just had a multipack of pro-dip arrive along with 3 cans of the cowboy coffee chew. Have a lip of the coffee chew in right now and I'm loving it. I have been dying for that lip fill feeling and the jerky cans just we're not hitting it. I could pack the stuff worth a damn and would lose half the can trying to put a lip in. The coffee chew is VERY thick even in the heat here in New Orleans. Packed great and tastes awesome, what can I say I'm a coffee fend. Anyway I would say this is a life saver as driving home from practice at the gym last night, I almost stopped twice to buy a can.
You need to PM a September '15 quitter by the name of Wikun. He's down around the NOLA area as well.

I'm headed over there on the 25th, but will only be a day trip. When I get more time (try to get there a couple times a year), we can share a beer and you can tell me all about being a "boot".

I wished I'd had that back in the day. Maybe I wouldn't have felt like it was "cheating" like I did with Smokey Mtn.

Glad you found a substitute that works for you. There'll come a day you won't need it. I was walking out of work Yesterday and it occurred to me I hadn't thought about it all day.

Are you quit? If so, post roll.
Doubtful, these new Marines are soft as shit. Boots.
That's a damn shame, especially when there are some bad ass Marines here to show them the way.

Well here it goes. I'm not even really sure what to put in here. I guess I'll start of on my I found this place. I promised my wife and daughters that I would quit dipping the day of our wedding. That was 6/11/16. I haven't had a dip since I got back to the house early Saturday morning to start getting ready. I have tried to quit before and even made it to about a week or so, but good God it sucks! I found kill the can while looking for dip alternatives. Ha my wife loved the site so much she already ordered several different ones for me to try. I started right before I joined the Marine Corps way bay in 02. After boot camp I really have not gone long without have a dip. Even now that I am out, I work insane hours and train and compete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and about the only time I wouldn't be reaching for a can was when I was actually on the mats. Still as soon as I got off, a lip went right back in. I'm going to update my profile and everything but this is the start. My 100th day without tobacoo will be Sept 18, 2016. Let's hope I can make it there. Thanks for having this site and this group.
Hey Devildog, I know the Marine Corps didn't get soft after I left. If you learned anything at MCRD it was to take things one day at a time. Your goal then was to make it to graduation. Well now your goal is a lifetime without that Nic-bitch in it. I'm glad you showed your wife this site. I did the same thing although it was a few days later. She has to understand this process. She has to understand the need to post roll every damn day. My wife asks me most days if I posted roll. She asks how my "other family" is at least weekly. Get some digits or emails and reach out when you need a helping hand. No shame in it. We are here to help. Some of us are assholes, some are nurturing. I'll let you guess which one I am. 'arse'

Your quit group is Pre-September 2016. Get in there and post roll.

Welcome Andy....where's the day 4 post? You need to head on over to September of '16....you can find it HERE and post up your promise. Writing an into is nice, but that's not how the system here works. And oh, BTW, there's no room in this house for HOPE. (unless there happens to be a female quitter out there by that name!!!) We don't "Hope we can make it there". we MAKE IT THERE by working the system. Wake up, piss, post roll, honor your post (that you won't use nicotine in any form whatsoever for the next 24 hours), then repeat. Simple, yes. Easy, no! You said so yourself.... yes, it SUCKS.

You see, over the years you were sucking on cat turds filled with enough poison to kill a small rodent on a daily basis, your brain built up several million additional dopamine receptors. Now that your off the steady nicotine drip, those little bastards are beginning to die off. Even after the physical removal of all nicotine from the bloodstream (which if you're at day 4 is already over), you will have some serious psychological withdrawals (called craves). Know that even though you might think you're gonna die if you don't get a dip, that feeling will eventually pass. And nicotine withdrawal has never actually killed anyone.

Strap in, son, gonna be a bumpy ride for awhile!! Let's get this quit under way, post up today!!
