I'm really jonesing though. I tried to not dip at all today but I already had two dips. I thought well shit maybe I can just quit all at once today but apparently I cracked. So you assholes don't think I should taper down? I need to man up and quit cold turkey, Huh?

FUCK! I'm so angry and short tempered right now. I'm getting fucking mad at my clothes hangers. I hate this part.
Get angry all you want/need to. Yell/bitch/scream/TYPE IN ALL CAPS/swear/call us names as much as you need to. Quit that shit cold turkey. Every dip you put in while trying to "quit" is increasing your chance of losing your jaw.

Flush that shit and promise not to use nicotine just for today. We all fight this battle one day at a time.
In the 26 years I spent dipping I became the worlds greatest Dip/Fake Mixology Chemist. It never worked. I tried it all. Nothing worked till I found this site and just fucking quit. We don't care how pissed you get. Use it to fuel your quit. Be stronger than the weed. It can be done if you want it bad enough.

Its actually easier to go cold turkey. (Let me explain haha) I read a study that said, When you try to ween yourself off all your doing is prolonging the withdrawl effects. So imagine you got down to one dip a day and you still feel like shit. Well every day you have that one dip you will keep the withdrawl symptoms at there worst for the rest of the day. Until Nic Bitch takes you back. Just toss it and lets go. No reason to prolong the suck.

This will help you get started. Welcome Center
The quicker you get the poison out of the system the faster you'll start feeling better. Flush that shit down the toilet. Quit pussy footing around, quit make excuses, just fucking quit.

Get on with it already. That shit isn't worth your life. That shit isn't worth your hard earned dollar.

You can do this.

I think I had roughly 50-60 "next Saturdays" when I was using dip. I only have one quit day, April 4th 2014. I challenge you to make yours January 7th, 2015.
Exactly. I can't add much more to what's been said above.

Everytime I "stopped", I did the taper off trick. Then, my stop would end after a month or 2 or 3.

The only time I was able to QUIT is when I found this site, tossed my can out the window  posted roll. I just posted my 395th day in a row here on KTC. My group started with 101 guys  now we have 15 left......but those 15 want the quit  lean on each other. I'm thankful to have every single one of those guys  all the other guys that I've got here for support.

Toss that shit, tell Nicotine to 'Finger'  get to quitting.
Hey brother I'm 50 been dipping since I was 12 38 years been quit 11 days because I listened to these guys threw the nic bitch down and quit! No different than you except I've probably quit 100 times! Read some of this shit it will blow your mind at how we're all going threw same shit! I agree totally throw shit away now or wait till doctor says not sure but that spot on your lip could be Cancer!
Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD

What everyone said here! Do it. Do it now. Waiting until Saturday sucks. Know why?
Because you're car won't start - I should get a dip.
Or your wife will screw up breakfast - I should dip.
Or, it's raining - Fuck it, I should dip.
Or, my son won't know - I should pack a fatty.
You know what? My lip doesn't even hurt this morning, I can have one last dip.
Shit, I've got a half of a can. I thought it would be empty this morning. I can't throw out a half of a can. I better dip it.
You know what? The Cowboys play Sunday. I hate the fucking Cowboys. I'll Quit like the Cowboys defense, so that means I can dip all day today. Yea, I'll quit tomorrow.
Tomorrow.
Tomorrow.
Tomorrow.
Tomorrow.
Tomorrow.
Tomorrow.
Tomorrow.
Tomorrow.
Tomorrow.

You sound like fucking Annie.

Why don't you try on Today? See how it fits. It wears a shit load better than tomorrow.

You can do this. We are proof.

Ditto what these wise quitters are saying. It's going to suck no matter how you go about it. That is your punishment for ever injesting that crap in the first place. If you start now, all nicotine will be out of your system by the end of the weekend.

Trash your can and let's get this done.

Quit. Don't try, don't slow done. Grab your nut sack and quit like you mean it. Don't quit for your son, quit for yourself. You are going to go through withdrawal whether you try to wean your way off so just get on with it. We were all in your shoes once, make that decision- get rid of that cancer can, say no to nicotine, post roll, honor your word and quit with us today.

If I can do this, you can do this but you have to want it.

Read this if you haven't already: topic/1003928/1/#new

Quit now before you are sitting in front of an ENT with a jaw saw ready to remove half your face.

I thought the same thing 314 days ago. I'll just slow down then stop, riiiight.

What those 2 quitters said is fact. Quit now, flush it now. Today can be your fresh start BUT you gotta want to do it for you. Nobody wants to die especially from something stupid like this. Quit for you and your son will benefit.
I just hit 50 and poisoned myself for 21 years or so with many stoppages in there. If I can do this so can you

Exactly what Flaw said. Quit with us all today. No reason to wait. Also in your subject you say "Hi! I'm sick of this shit and want to quit.; My name is Guy and I love and hate dip." What is there to love about dip? Something that controlled you and stole precious time and money from you for the last 30 years is nothing to love. Every person on this forum hates dip and the fact that they made the bonehead decision to ever start. Are you ready to finally see how much better you feel without this nasty addiction?

Hi everyone. My name is Guy and I have been dipping since I was about 16 years old. I just turned 44 and I have an 11-year-old son. My son has told me he does not want me to die and I hate that I have to hide my dipping from him. I've probably quit 20 times in the last 30 years but this time I want to really quit for good. I have never tried using support group before so I am very excited. I dipped today and I plan on dipping half as much as usual for tomorrow and then a little bit less the next day and the next day and be done by this Saturday.
Why wait until Saturday to quit? Why not post roll and be quit for today?

If you quit today, by Saturday, all the nicotine will be out of your body and almost your first week over with. The first week is the hardest by far, and you would have that week done.

Come Saturday you may think "ah well, 1 more lip won't hurt, i'll quit tomorrow"..then the next day you're going to repeat that same sentence, and push your quit farther.

Dump the rest of your chew and get on with your quit. You're only making it harder for yourself by pushing your quit date farther down the line. What's your son going to say when you told him you were going to quit, and he still see's you with a dip in?
