Glad you stuck with it. Here is a link to your quit group. Learn how to post roll here. Posting roll is the backbone of the site, and opens the floodgates of support.

As a CPA, obviously you are going to get much busier from now through April. I cannot stress how important it is to post roll early in the morning every single day. Even the first half of April.

Think of it this way ... did you find time to pull over and go into the convenience store or gas station to buy dip on you way into work on April 13, 14, and 15 in the past? I know I made myself even later for appointments many times because I had to buy my can of fix.

Quitting is really hard even after the fog has lifted. Take advantage of all the resources available here. Stay committed to your quit, and stay committed to your quit group.

Proud to quit with you.
^^^ solid advice from a badass quitter

I am a CPA as well, stock your desk and car with replacements; seeds, gum, candy, toothpicks and whatever it takes.
Also, some guys used fake, do whatever it takes.

Day 8 and coming out of the fog
« on: January 19, 2017, 01:55:00 PM »
Incredibly thankful to have found this community. I was on occasional user of general snus, up until about 3 years ago when i went through a divorce, and it became a can a day habit. I've had 2 young kids the majority of the time and it seemed snus helped ease the stress and anxiety a bit. I always had it with me: on bike rides, after a cup of coffee at work, at the gym, skiing. I couldn't go anywhere without it. With 2017 came a resolution to quit once and for all; I honestly didn't realize how hard it would really be. I'm a CPA and this is my busiest time of year, and I didn't research what the side effects would be. Maybe not the most ideal time to quit but I went for it anyway. The first 3 days were absolute hell: the fog, sugar cravings, inability to concentrate (which is incredibly important this time of year), irritability, snapping at my poor innocent children for the stupidest reasons. I have been a real dick the past 8 days.

Today has been by far my best day. I feel that I'm out of the fog, I can concentrate better, and i don't feel as irritable. I've gone through a fair share of grinds and smokey mountain, which has helped at least the feeling of having a snus in the ol upper lip. I haven't had any real cravings by having the before mentioned nicotine free stuff available, gum and sunflower seeds. I've pounded water and eaten small meals throughout the day to help with the sugar imbalance. I've also started to seriously date someone for the first time since getting a divorce, which has given me even more motivation to quit. I've told her everything and talking to her about it and opening up has really helped the process.

Every 10 days is going to be a huge victory for me, and looking forward to getting to that 100 day point and beyond. Thanks for the support!!
