Day 3-
Words cannot describe the relief that day 3 brings.
It is a wave of calm- much like getting past the tide on a boat trip to sea.

Days 1 and 2 are so turbulent. Most thoughts are panic-stricken pleas from the brain to go ahead and cave. The longer the starvation goes, the worse it gets.

I am a very rational human being. Doctors have to be such creatures.
Rationalization has never worked when dealing with nicotine addiction.
I would tell myself that I would eventually quit. I told myself that I would get around to quitting, and that I would be able to detect and instantly treat any lesion that popped up. How crazy is that? I actually did quit 3 years ago, then relapsed (2 months in) after a party.
It's just time to stop.

I'm so glad day 2 is over.

Working out is helping a ton. I wonder how many quitters decide to start really busting their asses at the gym the exact time they quit? I bet it would help. It shocks the system- the last thing you're worried about is a chew when you're too sore to walk!
Great post. Yes you may notice lower in the Forum an area called Getting My Act Together in this area there are exercise, Crossfit, Drugs, Drinking, Fast Food etc. groups.

Keep it up, and glad to see the suck wave is starting to settle down. Keep your guard up though because another wave will be coming...

Day 2 and a half-
Man, was that an ENJOYABLE half hour.
After lunch, I hit the driving range and went nuts. Boy, when that nic beeotch gets going, she can really go to work!

A half liter or so of water put out that fire, but damn!
Today has actually been slightly worse than day 1, and that has never really been the case before.

All is well. After 72 hrs, it's so much easier!

Hello to all:

I am so glad that I found this site. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL to see a group of people sticking by one another to beat a nasty addiction.

I have dipped for 8 years. I actually learned it in professional school as a way to pull all-nighters studying. I cannot believe it has been that long.

Through immaculate hygiene and moving the dip around, I have managed to hide my dipping from everyone. Only my golf buddies know. My wife seriously has no clue, and she's a brilliant woman.

Anyway, I have quit once before, but it was half-hearted. This time I sat in my study and decided I was tired of being pulled away from people and events due to my lie.

Today actually went amazingly. I felt a few cravings during trigger times, but a piece of gum knocked them out. 26 hours in, baby!
I am looking to get back into great shape, so I guess workouts will be my new fix!

Thanks so much for any and all future support, guys. See y'all at roll call tomorrow!

You'll be getting some good tips from seasoned quitters- follow what makes sense, they know how to help.
