Tossed the nicorette out. Just joined at work. Should have read more first. Best.
Nicorette is just another vehicle for the poison.
Nice job!
If we can do this, so can you.

Your booze comment sucks.
At this point. I'm done.

Cold hard truth.

MCray, you have been told that booze early in a quit is a really bad idea. Don't believe us? Guess you will have to learn the hard way.

all the oorahs and hell yesses are not impressive to me, especially when you drag your encouragement of drinking through our introductions.

Folks are trying to quit. We are trying to help them. You are getting in the way of that.

I don't suffer that gladly. Shut up and quit.
I have a feeling inidaho is aware of what a fool USMCray is. idaho sees the problem and is maturely trying to correct it. USMC is the poster child of the quote "better for people to believe you for a fool, than open your mouth and prove it." Inidaho, bro we are here to help and in a sane kind of way. one day at a time.

I made the same decision 85 days ago. I also like alcohol and knew I would have little chance of truly quitting unless I gave up the alcohol if nothing else short term until I got past the fog stage. Ended up not drinking a drop for 2 weeks, then slowly eased back into in a manner where I could trust myself. I'm still not out of the woods and will not begin to feel somewhat comfortable until the year point.

If cost of chew is one of the reasons you are quitting why not stop alcohol as well? Or at least curtail it significantly long term. Damn dude, a pint a day will kill the liver and the pocket book in short order. You're battling two demons but my opinion is quit them both at once. I tapered alcohol and dip for a week before quitting. Sleep was hard to and and shitty for a week after stopping.

Somewhere on here I read that sleepy time tea and benadryl both help if you need a sleep aid.
poof!

I need to quit alcohol too. I spend about the same on both each day. But I do need to taper down. It might help my nerves tonight too. But I'll drink 1/2 the pint tonight. I also need to start exercising. I am hoping over the next 100 days, I can get a lot of things "fixed" in my life.
Booze is a bad idea this early in a quit.

just sayin.......

Hello all. I have been chewing copenhagen since I was in sixth grade. I am 45 years old. I quit for 3 months several years ago but since then I have been chewing 2 cans a day. I saw a show many years ago where someone was chewing a can a day and I thought that was crazy. Just like my drinking, my chewing just keeps getting worse. I am tired of the expense, and below my tongue is now rough. I quit 6 hours ago and have almost ran to the store 3 times already to grab a can. I do have nicorette lozenges which are helping a lot because at least "I know I am getting the nicotine".

I mentioned my drinking. I can easily go through a pint of bourbon a night. I am working on that, but not ready to quit my alcohol yet. 1 vice at a time. I do have days when I don't drink, thanks to an online group. I know it says on the site, not to drink while you are quitting tobacco, but it would be dangerous for me to stop without tapering. The good news is that I don't drink and drive-EVER. So if I make it home and have a drink, the closest place to buy chew is 10 miles away and I won't be getting behind a wheel. I look forward to getting through this with everyone. BTW, I just woke up and decided to quit today. I should have probably cut back before hand, but here we go. I can't find my roll call group (didn't see a November 2014) so let me know where to find it if you know. Good luck to all. Best, Mike

^^^^throw that shit out. You are not quit if you are using nicotine. It is nicotine you are addicted to. Tobacco is just the delivery system. Flush those fuckers down the shitter and then you can post a day 1
ooops. I missed that. This is a no nicotine site. That means no nicorrette. Period. Toss that shit out now!
