Today was the first time I ever came to this site. I accidentally clicking on a pop up and it lead me to a chatroom with live scrolling text, at first i thought it was some kind of spam for GlutenFreeSingles or AmishDating.com (whatever it is your into). Anyways, As I continuted reading I felt more and more connected to the conversation. I made a comment about throwing so many cans out the window after just taking one dip. Somebody who read my comment did exactly that, joined a quit group, reached out to me, asked me to join, now were friends and going through this together. I didnÂ’t know this existed but here I am and I look forward to going down this rockey road with ALL of you guys.

Thunder! Nice first post on the intro and GREAT job on posting roll. Like Srains said, posting roll is how this works! If you post roll every day as soon as you wake up and are a man/woman of your word, you can't fail!

I cannot tell you how many fuckin' cans of Copenhagen that I bought fresh, had the "one last dip" , hucked it out the window of my truck only to by a new one the next morning. Dumb eh? Great news is your life doesn't have to be like that anymore. Quitting is possible if you dive in to the KTC method head first. Get involved and post roll and your life won't revolve around that slut Copenhagen anymore!

I am quit 354 days today, and THE ONLY WAY I COULD EVER DO THIS WAS POSTING ROLL!

Get you some Quit! If you want to swap digits, shoot me a PM.

Thunderbuddy,

Welcome to the group.

The main way to be successful is to just decide that you have quit. Once you stop the negotiating in your head as to whether you will do one more or not the rest becomes far more simple.

Next, you will learn to distract your attention from your desire for a dip to anything else that interests you. This ability to change your focus will guarantee your success and make your quit that much easier.

When you place a dip in your mouth, your brain releases sugars. Well, those sugars are now going to be gone.

However, you can replace them with OJ or other fruit juices with sugar. This will provide some comfort, especially in your initial quit days.

Make sure to exercise with weights and cardio when you feel that nagging tension in your muscles, you feel that rage, when you can not sleep and when you can not focus. Exercise really helps.

Here is one that most people overlook. Get at least 3 square meals a day. Hunger can really bring on those urges so squash those urges before they come. Eat full healthy meals and do not let yourself get excessively hungry. You will see this helps a great deal.

I waited until I was 59 quit after using tobacco for 40 years. You are wise to quit now.

I quit with you today.

Welcome to KTC! I'm proud to be quit with you today!

I'm on Day 24, and we're in the same quit group (January '18 Ball BUSTERS). I'm still pretty new here as well, but have done my best to try to figure things out as I go. The idea here is pretty straightforward:

1) Post your daily promise to quit as soon as you get up (WUPPEDD)
2) Keep that promise
3) Repeat

It's incredibly difficult to quit dipping forever. When I think about that I start panicking and anxiety takes over... What I've found though is that it's incredibly easy to quit for one day. So, every day for the last 24 days I have quit for one day. Simple. Easy (comparatively). Done and done.

From what I've figured out so far you will get out of KTC what you put in. If you make contacts and use them, post roll every day, reach out to people, and stay active it is far more likely that you will be successful than if you drift in and out (post and ghost). Our quit group has an incredibly large number of supporters, many of whom are "commas" (over 1K quit days). That's a lot of quit experience in our corner and a great resource to have. What do they have in common? They are STILL posting their promise every day. Powerful stuff.

There are a bunch of resources on the site that will help you with your quit. The "What to expect" links are particularly helpful because they will help you realize a lot of what you're about to go through is "normal". The next few days are going to SUCK! There's no way around that. It WILL get better. Document what you go through here so you have something to look back on. You only ever want to do this once...

I'm going to send you my contact info (check your inbox in the upper right corner). Don't hesitate to reach out, and please reply with your contact info as well. You will be amazed how helpful it is to have these resources when you need them, and it just may save your quit. I think I have 20+ numbers now, and I text 10-12 of them every single morning with the same promise I make when posting roll. Accountability makes sooooo much difference!
