It started out as a dip here and there and worked up to a can a day habit.

For the last year I have told myself it is time to quit, I kept saying after this can I will quit, I will cut back and work my way down to zero.

The truth is I am weak, I suck at quitting.

Best of luck to all my fellow quitters out there!
The distance between one dip and no dip is a trillion miles. No one casually steps over the threshold from user to quit. It is an nasty addiction to one of the most addictive drugs known. Don't ever call it a habit.

Everyone sucks at lifting, singing, dancing, car repair, and everything else when they first start. You can't be an expert at quitting from day 1. But everyone will help you stay quit as long as you stay quit. Give up, and nobody will do a damn thing to help you. We will help you become damn good at quitting.

Luck has nothing to do with it. Reassess after Day 10. You won't say you have been lucky. You will be saying you fought like hell all because you stayed true to your word.

I quit with you today.

Nice job Combs. Keep working through this first little bit. It will get easier. Remember that dip never did a damn thing for you except allow the nicotine withdrawals to go away briefly. That type of slavery is no way to live, and you're earning your freedom back now ODAAT.
"Fuck nicotine dude. You don't need it. And you don't want it. It didn't do a thing for you and you know it." - worktowin
"today you dissided that shit wont control your life. and it wont. unless you let it." - drome
"Not thinking about nicotine is for people who've never used nicotine. We threw that option away with the first dip or drag on a cigarette. We are addicts, and cannot become un-addicted." - wildirish317
"You need to decide how much you really want to be quit." - pky1520
We are always at risk. And probably always will be. That is why I will never get "too quit" to post my +1. Every. Damn. Day. - geis2597

Thanks for all the words of encouragement. Yesterday was not too bad until just after dinner. This was always the dip that I enjoyed the most, I fought through but I will have to say this morning may have been tougher than last night after dinner. Reading through the replies was a big help this morning and thanks for the dip alternative tips. I drank so much water yesterday I think I had to piss every 15 mins. The other thing that really helped my cravings was ice.
Nice job! Keep it going B. Reach out if you need anything.
If it was easy there wouldn't be 20,000 people signed in here to fight this. This is a challenge BC. Wake up and hit this place. In place of normal dips, hit seeds or a straw (not cocaine...well unless you are into that, who am I to judge) or fake dip or a piece of candy. For a month my drive to work was weird, but eventually it got smooth. Get here first thing and make a pledge, like you did, and crawl on. We hold you up you hold us up .

I am not sure what lead me to KTC but I have never happier to find a group of quitters! I was a dipper for almost 20 years. It started out as a dip here and there and worked up to a can a day habit. For the last year I have told myself it is time to quit, I kept saying after this can I will quit, I will cut back and work my way down to zero. It always sounded like a great plan at the time only problem is a few hours later I couldnÂ’t tell you what the plan was. The truth is I am weak, I suck at quitting or I did until yesterday when stumbled upon the KTC website. I read the philosophy, poked around the website and found not just some words of advice but a community of people willing to help, people who have fought the same battle and are winning. I was excited and truly ready to give up my addiction. I am still weak but am very hopeful that with the help and support of my new found friends and fellow quitters to kick this habit once and for all. I dumped my dip at 8:00pm last night and committed to myself that I was done. Thank you for sharing your success stories and the best of luck to all my fellow quitters out there! One day at a time, we can do thisÂ…Bryan
Welcome combs, it's a tough road but I can say after the first 3-4 days it gradually gets better. The fog is intense at times. Help set yourself up for a bad ass quit. Buy some seeds, fake chew, gum.... Whatever will help you tough out the hard cravings (which inevitably occur). The better prepared you are the better chances to power through. I saw you posted roll so just remember to hop on daily, the earlier the better, and post up that promise to yourself and everyone in the novembros.
Great decision B! Buckle up because the first few days can be rough. Keep some dip alternatives close at hand. Seeds, gum, candy, whatever you can get your hands on. Drink a ton of water! Water helped me out of a lot of craves. i downed a big glass every time i craved dip. if you can walk by the bathroom and not piss, you need to drink more water. Get to know guys in your month they will become friends and huge help later on. Anyone on here will give you a hand just ask. If you need anything shoot me a pm! Congrats!
Welcome. Nice job posting roll solo, most guys take a few weeks to figure it out. Read read read and ask. Talk to fools. Love chat is a good place to get instant answers. This place will change you. You HAVE to want it. Do what Natro said with the water and alternatives, and log onto here.
Welcome Bryan to what will be the start of a new feeling of freedom. It is awesome but no one is gonna give it to you, you have to earn it. Odaat! EDD! one day at a time! Every damn day! Post roll, keep your promise and not only will you be a winner but also a badass quitter! It's not easy but it's worth every damn second of the suck! I quit with you today my friend!
This is a fun place B...it's a bitch when your alone but with all these bad ass quitters we take it one min/hour/day at a time. Check your PM fellow November quit badass. I'll leave you my contact info in case you need a kick in the ass.

Quit on with November 'oh yeah'
