Way to grind it out Jstock. Out here in day "20 something" it gets better. Most of the day is OK. You get a few quick pangs and they're easy enough to get past.

Keep posting and stick with it! Everyone is pulling for you!

Using this as my Diary and hopefully to help others.. got some very much needed sleep last night... (night of day 2).. I was crabby.. hell at times I really figured I was going to have a break down... but I kept telling myslef I cannot beleive I let something control me like that.. the fog was crazy bad.. I woke up this morning and so far I dont feel that bad.. glad I made it this far and I sure hope today is better than yesterday.. I have been drinking water like crazy and also running and sweating to try and get everything out of my system... My hope is by Monday morning I can return to work with just the cravings and not a freaking fog.. I dont think I could do my job if that maintains... but for the most part today, this morning I do feel better...

Some things that are working for me... I just got a divorce in Aug... that was tough.. so comparing the two is making this seem a bit easier... as this only effects me...

I also never have considered myself a pussy.. so I just keep saying.. suck it the fuck up...

JStock - It will get better, trust me, but the love for the dip will never stop. I have friends and family member that have quit for 3 + years now and to this day they still think of having a dip. Hang in their, I'm right there with you. We can do this.

I have been reading this site for two days now.. some stuff helps.. some stuff doenst help in the sense it makes it even worse.. knowing you'll be fighting this for a longtime to come... I will say though.. its a great site.. I have chewed for 23 or more years and learned a ton of stuff on this site I never knew..

So everyone is in agreement that the first 2-3 days are the worse, I am always looking at data.. and keep thinking if I can get this nicotine out of my system I will be fine... I think I can handle the triggers just not this fucking fog... I do no like it at all...

but day 4 will be better?
JStock, when you see someone in their Hundreds talking about craving or having a dip dream, it is a totally different thing than what you are going through right now. We are sincere when we say it gets better. It will get to the point where you won't have a single thought about it for weeks, even months! and when you do have a thought about it, it is in passing and you are able to easily shrug it off and laugh about it. But yes, you will find yourself with an occasional thought about it, WE ARE ADDICTS. This crap has controlled you for 24 years, you cannot just wipe it out of your database in a matter of a few months or years. It is a matter of controlling it, knowing what to do when you hit a rough patch, get through it, and get on living a healthy CLEAN life. Because you know what brother? I would rather go through life Quit and have an occasional thought about chew, than go through life chewing with constant thoughts of quitting 'winker'

damn LOOT wishes he had the time to respond properly...

but dude...it will get better. it will get worse before it does tho. one of the wonderful things about quitting is the self discovery (not that kind whodey you fuckin fag).

LOOT couldn't remember what a clean LOOT was like. LOOT tried to yake advantage of the quit and mold himself to be the type of person he wanted to become. It worked in some areas...and tanked in others.

LOOT was an asshole with Copenhagen, LOOT was a bigger asshole when he first quit Copenhagen, and 946 days later LOOT is still trying to figure out how big of an asshole a clean LOOT should be.

2 Day Blues...
« on: January 04, 2008, 10:49:00 AM »
Dad gave me my first chew when I was 13.. 37 now.. chewed at least a can a day every since.. My dad quit in Oct.. says I can do it too.. I am like everyone else... I am sure.. I dont even know myself without chewing.. I dont know how I will handle stress.. I dont know how I will even act without a chew.. my girlfriend at least says I will smile more.. but the way I feel now I am not so sure I will ever smile again...

I am on Day 2.. I drank tons of water yesterday.. ran 5 miles to sweat it out of my system if possible.. back on the water today... I need this freaking fog to lift.. tell me it gets better... I dont know who I am.. What I am doing have the time.. just fell like I am dont belong anywhere... someone tell me by morning it starts looking better....

No sleep last night and sweat like a whore in church... WTF??? just need a rough time frame on when this may just be a fight with the triggers and not a fight with my body....
