Day 4 sucks I dont care what they say about it getting better, maybe the morning fog wasnt so bad but was tired as hell and took all I had to get my ass moving. My mouth hurts from the seeds and I think I am beginning to sweat out just salt who knows. Day 4 realization; taste buds coming back is not always a good thing when you eat at the chow hall.
I thought the same when I was on day 4. I'm only on 9 now, but trust me, it does get better each day. You should turn a major corner within the next few days!

THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE!
Hang in there Willie. It does get better, my friend. We all have gone through where you are at right now with our quits. It can and will be done. We are all pulling each other through this to the light, so keep shouting out and we'll keep listening and encouraging.

I salute you for your service and for stepping up to the challenge of your quit.
Great hearing about your quit Willy. You have got a serious set of balls.

I'll hold you to that standard.

Your heart is in the right place, your quit is well founded, and best of all, you sound determined!!!

If you ever need anything at all, consider this my own KTC "open door policy" for serious quitters, especially Combat Vets (or DoD civilians over there, or Contractors supporting the war effort, etc). Feel free to PM me any time.

Stay safe!!!

Colonel Sends.

Well this is the first day of the rest of my life; I am sure that has been said more than once on this site by cavers and quitters alike. I am in Iraq and figure there is no place better than to get my quit on. I appreciate everyone's support even those that don't think they may have given it the words of wisdom pages are awesome and the HOF speeches are something I am striving to be able to write. I found this site read all I could, joined a few days later and knew that this would be the key to my quit. I planned my quit date for today, stocked up on seeds and water and was nervous as hell dumping that last can in the trash this morning. I am 8 hours ahead so if I post roll out of order I apologize in advance. My name is willy and thank yall for letting me be apart of your quit, I am sure as hell glad to have all of you for mine.
The best time to quit is right now, and the best place is wherever you happen to be right now. It sounds like you've made your decision, and I can tell you it's the best one you've ever made.

It sounds like you've read a lot of stuff on the site, so you probably know what to expect. But let me emphasize that the next few days will probably be a jumbled mess of mind games as your mind tries to talk you into taking another dip. For the first few days, quitting will likely feel like you are doing the wrong thing, like you are losing a piece of yourself or your best friend, like you're being horribly unfair to yourself. These feelings are lies; be ready for them and don't believe them. You know you've made the right decision, don't allow yourself to doubt it. You can do this, welcome aboard!
congrats on your decision and thanks for your service.

read read read and read.......you will find:

tons of good quit info

tons of actual experience and successful quits.....there is not one thing you will face that someone on these boards hasn't already beaten. Most of what you face....we have all beaten.

get involved and make some of the best friends you've never met.

Integrity, Accountability and Involvement....this is the successful quit strategy.

Willy-

In Iraq serving our country AND you are quitting while there?

You, Sir, obviously are no stranger to sacking up and getting shit done!

Strategy here is simple...be on this site as much as possible. Be a continual poster in your quit group and on this site, get as many numbers as you can AND no matter what don't cave. Caving here is not your typical cave....trust me..you will let others down and injure their quit efforts and as a man of honor, you know that would be unacceptable.

Welcome - if you need anything - ring me!
Thank you all for the words of encouragement, I appreciate it.
