I have enjoyed chewing for 30 some years now. But the older I get the more I realize that one needs to be concerned for their health. This makes me want to quit. In the past year I have lost over 50 pounds and became addicted to exercising. It just makes it seem that much more stupid to be chewing.

But I also have to quit. Just this year my employer as part of the annual health screening asks if you smoke or chew tobacco. If you do they charge a $100 a month surcharge for health insurance. If you mark no and they find out that you do it will result in termination for falsifying documentation. I averaged about two cans of chew a week. The surcharge on my health insurance was going to cost me more then the tobacco itself. So I marked no on the form and new I had better quit before my next random UA.

I have not had a chew since first thing Friday the 15th of January. I scraped the last chew out of my can when I got up that morning and have not had one since. The only serious temptation I face is when I stop at a store that has chew. As long as I resist buying any I won't have to worry about resisting taking a dip. One advantage I have is that the thought of sharing a can of chew with someone else has always disgusted me. It doesn't matter if it involves me taking a chew from there can or letting them take a chew from mine. I did face a strong urge at the convenience store tonight. But instead of buying a can of chew I bought a pack of gum.

I'm here, don't worry I have not given up that easy. I know from past experience that the initial quit is easier for me then the long term. I have gone for weeks, months, even years without chewing only to fall back in the past. I am very determined to make this the last time I have to quit.

Where are you bicycle! Are you gonna continue on being a slave or you gonna man up grab your sac and let us help you? It's a journey you will never regret! Matter of fact then only thing you will have to regret is not posting.
Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD

^^ some good advice here.
Get active and investment in your quit each day, read up and build up some support.
Post roll everyday, first thing. Then if you if you get a crave, are sitting at a gas station, what's your plan. text a quit brother, fake chew, gum, mints, ???
Quit on brother,

Welcome Bryan,

You're here. That's the important thing. You've taken the first step and posted a couple determined sounding, heartfelt diatribes. You've made a decision for whatever reason. Now you gotta follow through.

The next step, as you know, is to make your promise today over in 4/16. You've been lurking for awhile. You knew this was coming. Now it's time for the next step, then the next.

What do you have to lose beside a few bucks, your integrity or part of your mandible?

Bicycle, Welcome to KTC. There is so much wrong with your first post. It screams addict. Let's get a few things clear. 1. I'm on your team so don't take criticism the wrong way here. 2. You never enjoyed chewing, the drug trick fucked your mind into thinking that however, you will come to know the true man inside down the road. 3. You will never quit for money, a job, a spouse, a kid or anything else. You MUST quit for you. Soon there will be many other quitters along to help you on the ride to freedom. Listen to them, don't fight what works and KTC works. 810 days of freedom for me today. If my addict self can do it so can you.
