Real name is Craig and i've been dipping for 11 years. Grew up around competetive baseball and started dipping when I was 12. I've tried quitting umpteen times and failed everytime within the first 2 weeks. One of the toughest parts of every previous quits was the fact that my closest buddies dipped and we were always hanging out playing softball, hunting, fishing, and anything else where dipping just kind of fit the bill. Within the last year everyone else has had successful quits, leaving me the poor sap still wasting money. I now have a 3 month old daughter and all of my other quits were half assed attempts because my wife thought it was gross and wanted me to quit. This is my first time quitting for me, because i want to be there for my daughter and i dont want to be wasting money i could be using to make her life better. I dipped a whole can today at work, then when i got home from work a few hours ago i looked at my daughters face and knew it was time that i killed it once and for all. the rest of the night is going to be a piece of cake as i never dip at the house anyway, i'm sure it will start setting in after my coffee in the morning so i'm sure i will be on here. I look forward to being quit for the rest of my life. Wish me luck!
No luck to it, boss. Make it happen. Live in 24-hour increments; 8 hour increments if you have to. Post your promise and commitment and honor it for 24 hours, rinse and repeat. I've never gone longer than 3 days until I found this site on 12/4/14. If you keep your word and actually WANT to be quit, you'll be quit.
Where you from by the way (I noticed your screen name and wondered about it)?

So excited to be starting on this. Already posted roll for the day and I cant wait to change my life.

I have a bad habit of forgetting usernames so once I finally got one I remembered I used it for everything, but i'm from north of Pensacola, Florida, right on the Alabama line.
Good deal, bro. Florala? I've got roots in Evergreen/Andalusia. Look, this ain't a cakewalk--you already know that. But, you want to be free so your daughter grows up with a man not enslaved to tickling the leaves? You're in the right place, bud. A few tips from my early days...
1) drink copious amounts of water. It'll help flush the remnants of nicotine. After 72 hours, the nicotine is usually out of your system and the physical withdrawals aren't as bad.
2) the mental battle is the tough one. Post roll early in the morning tomorrow when you wake up. That way, dipping is OFF the table for 24 hours if you keep your word.
3) your quit group is full of folks going through the same blistering SUCK as you are. Get to know them.
4) you reach out to me or anyone else with a screen name on this site if you need to vent, rage, or need someone to remind you why you're here.

Go HARD, square up, and fight for your life. We're all right there with you.

Well congrats on you finding your way to freedom. Few things luck has nothing to do with quitting here, we do it by making promise to ourselves and our brothers and sister's we will not dip for 24 hour's at a time by posting roll. Then we wake, piss and post roll first thing every day. You haven't quit yet ever you've had brief stops, but here you can QUIT! Alot to learn in here so post roll and let's get you started! I quit with you today!
Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD
