I don't know how you feel about using fake dip but I think having some could help you. When your having trigger moment and drinking and you have the f it give me a dip well pop in the fake stuff your body won't know the difference it doesn't need the nic after week its physiologic. It helped me to use fake stuff and in the last 6 months I haven't drank to much cause it ruined my quit before. I quit with you

JRilla,

This place is built on two things:

1. A quitter's integrity
2. That same quitter's daily post that he/she will not use any form of nicotine for the next 24 hours.

It's actually a very simple formula. You wake up, piss, and before you do anything else, go post your day count (# days you are quit) and your promise you won't use nicotine that day. Then you keep your word. The next day you do it all over again. It's called ODAAT (one day at a time). Along the way, you are HIGHLY encouraged to trade phone numbers (digits), with your fellow quitters. Over time, they will become less like strangers on an internet forum and more like an extended family of brothers (and sisters). Invest in your quit by investing in theirs. The more you connect and the stronger the web of accountability you build, the more likely you are to succeed.

I want you to succeed. Check your PM (inbox at the top right hand corner). My digits are on the way to you shortly....

I have been a nicotine addict of some sort for 20 years. But never straight on.. I have stopped so many times I cannot count for lengths of a couple days up to the longest stretch ever for 1.5 years. BUT never stayed. My biggest weakness and when I give in usually revolves around one of two things. 1 - Alcohol - Most times I drink I am fine but for whatever reason there will be a time where I have some drinks, and cave to nicotine thinking it will be no problem. I may not pick it up again the next day or even for a week but rest assured it always seems to creep back slowly to a daily habit. or 2 - Confidence/Cockiness. On my longest "stops" 1.5 years one time 8-10 months a couple other times, it always ends up I think I can handle just one smoke or dip with an old friend, or a cigar to celebrate with the boss ect... leads me right back and the circle starts again.

I've followed this site alot and often but never really gotten involved in a group thinking just the information and reading posts would be enough.. But it seems like that is/was not working fully. So, it is about time for me to jump in full bore - I need help to STAY quit FOREEVER.

Currently I have not had a dip in 14 hours.. before than I was dipping for 48 hours... before that I was not dipping for 86 hours.. before that I was dipping for 1 day... before that I hadn't had a dip in about 6 weeks... So, while I am not feeling full on the fog that comes with a long time dipper --- I am feeling the urges and triggers to go buy a can. The thoughts of oh I can just quit tomorrow or after this weekend are strong.. I am fighting, but would like some help.

Can someone who is an admin or a longtime give me a chat to discuss past activities on the board here and help me get going?
You are a member of the January group. Learn how to post roll here.

I've been quit 613 days, after many failed attempts over 24 years. The difference is the daily promise I make by posting roll. I post roll every single day, and I plan to keep posting roll for as long as this site exists. It's what keeps me quit. I can't stand the idea of letting my April '16 brothers down. They started out as a group of internet strangers, but have become like a second family.

Here's a link to the chat site: http://chat.killthecan.org/

Make your promise. Keep your promise. Make your promise tomorrow. It's as simple as hell, and the formula works.
