I have chew Grizzly Wintergreen long cut for 4 years. I have tried quitting before but have never wanted it as much as I do now. Came across this forum when I googled quitting tips. I'm a college student who is almost always stressed out and typically go through a can a day. I never buzz anymore, hate the taste it leaves in my mouth, and hate the feeling of my gums being torn up all the time.

I would appreciate any advice that people have for me. I have tried nicotine gun, jakes mint chew, and seeds. Have not had luck with any of those sticking.

I'm new to this site and would really appreciate any advice.

Thanks.
Hey man, I'm a college student as well and can relate to what you are going through. Both of my roommates dip/smoke so I am constantly faced with triggers, let alone going to any type of party where there is ALWAYS a crew out back smoking or dipping. It definitely can be a tough environment to stay quit in but 54 days later I can tell you it can be done. One thing that has helped me stay quit is turning the thoughts of dip into disgust, every time I see someone with a dip in I am disgusted and think to myself how much better/stronger I am then this weak individual who is a slave to a nicotine product.

The biggest thing you can do is let ALL of your close friends know that you are trying to quit and if they are any type of real friends they will understand and actually help you out. Every time I got out to a party I tell my group of friends that if they offer me cig/dip throughout the night, no matter how drunk I get, I will punch them in the dick and then piss on their bed sheets in the morning.

It is a very good sign that you want to quit for yourself, harness that strength and get that quit rolling. Send me a PM of your number, might as well have another college student helping you out.

These guys have laid down the gospel, so there's not much more I can add. But, in typical fashion, I gotta interject something.

First: I'm not a college student. Not anymore. Did my time back in the mid/late nineties. I'm probably a borderline "old fart" to you at 38, but I can promise you one thing. Life is not going to become less stressful. Don't fool yourself like that. Looking back over my life, those were some great years, and I wasted my health with nicotine. I wouldn't change a thing, but I assure you my life is more stressful now, mainly because of the number of people that are dependent on me for various things. Wife, kids, aging parents, coworkers, contractors, etc, etc.

So, my point is basically that now is the best time for quitting. Right now.

Reach out if you need anything. We're here to help.

Someone else said this before, can't remember who - Grab your balls and be a man. Don't be a little slave to the Nic bitch. You want to quit promise yourself and everyone here that you will not take a dip today, once accomplished repeat.

Luck has absolutely nothing to do with quitting. It's all about making a daily commitment and promise and keeping your word. Nicotine has a hold on you and makes you think it is needed to deal with stress. That's complete bullshit nicotine just adds to stress for many of us.
Now I'm sure you are a bright guy, figure out how to post roll and get with the program!
What these guys speak is the truth. Get on over to the July 13 quit group and post roll then wake up the next day and do it again. Try keeping some seeds, gum, hard candy, tooth picks or fake chew with you for when the cravings hit. If you need anything feel free to pm me.
