I tossed my can of Grizzly Long Cut Straight Tuesday morning at work. I had just gotten home from Georgia Monday night with my dad, an amputee thanks to type 2 diabetes and a lifetime of smoking, no doubt. The thought that that is in my future absolutely terrifies me. I can't do this anymore. I have to stop.
Tuesday morning at work, we had a meeting about the workplace tobacco policy. It felt like a sign and I quit right then.
Found this place when I went looking for what symptoms to expect. I'm doing ok as far as cravings, but the fog and anxiety/sleeplessness are being tough to handle right now.
Anyway, thanks for reading.

Awesome man, huge congrats on your quit! This place will save you. Just make your promise each and every day by posting roll and follow through with it. Quit one day at a time and before you know it dipping will not be a part of your daily existence. Sounds pretty hard to imagine probably right now, but believe me the recipe works. Just quit one day at a time brother! Reach out for help if you need it, you can do this!!!!

Posted roll? Check. Wrote and intro? Check. Quit cold turkey? Check. Researched on KTC? Check. All this seems darn good to me.

It's amazing how similar our quit experiences are. For me, I felt bad (nauseated) off and on for about 20 days. I often had oatmeal and fruit for dinner during that time (comfort food that was easy to digest). Exercise would really clear things up for a short period.

But then, slowly, day by day it gets better. After a while, sleep improved to a point where it's the best sleep I have had in years.

Stick with the KTC. Jump in and read and communicate when you can't sleep--it adds strength to your quit.

Kevin S.,

It's day 1 for me. I too am tired of the addiction, everyone at my office dips and its hard to try and stop. But I am tired of putting a pinch in, feeling like crap and taking it out after 5 min. Good job on day three, Ill see you there in two days.

Thank you. I want the help and accountability of this community but I'm not sure where to go. My quit date being 2/24/15 puts me in a June 2015 quit group but I don't know how to find that.

I quit 102 days ago and it wasn't easy. There were some very tough times to get through.this site helped me immensely. Don't know how long you dipped for but it will take time to reverse years of nicotine abuse. Believe it or not your already through the worst of it! Just know that as long as you never use nic again you'll never have to experience these first few days again. Congrats man you made the best decision of your life!! Never look back!

Welcome.

This will be the best decision you ever made. The freedom is better than you'd ever expect it to be. But first... You gots to deal with the fact that it will be a li'l shitty at first. Everything you mentioned is the norm and we all have experienced it at varying levels. Wear it proud, man! Work at thinking of this first part of your quit as a badge of honor. You're doing something that takes a whole lotta sac. That's badass. Get yourself to our Welcome Center to learn what, why, and how we do things here. Be active in your quit... Be disciplined... Be involved... Stay involved.

It's worth it.
Well, it’s one louder, isn’t it? It’s not ten.
