Welcome, TGF. You posted roll call in April 11 group this morning. You're welcome to post there anytime you like (and I'm inviting you to do so), but your quit group will be March 2012. Since today is Day 1, you will hit 100 days (Hall of Fame on this site) in March 2012. Your quit group is LOCATED HERE.

Yell if you need anything.

PS - As you will note when you go to the above link, I added your post in April 11 to the roll call in March 12. I'll be looking for your Day 2 post bright and early tomorrow morning. Good to be quit with you.

Marines don't lie, cheat, or steal. The first week will be worse than boot camp or Iraq, with the welcome exception that you are not getting shot at. Get into your quit group, and make the big commitment. Then back up your words. We are nothing if we can't keep our word. There are many jarheads on this site who have also BTDT, and can help you in any time of need if you feel you just have to have one last dip of horse shit in your mouth.
Never. Leave. This. Site.

Welcome Travis. Make this THE QUIT. We all have just one in us. Like LLcope said: reach out and get acquainted. Check out the welcome center, it's the pink girly link at the top under the KTC logo. That should point you the right direction. Spend some time in your quit group March HOF just reading. That'll help you get acquainted and also see how this place works. All you really need to know is:

1. Post early everyday. This is your promise to stay clean for 24 hours.

2. Keep your promise.

3. Repeat.

4. Reach out (PM, text, smoke signals, etc) if you need anything.

Travis,
Proud to be quit with you today! I can relate to your story as I picked up my addiciton to dip on a deployment.....said i would quit when I redeployed and never did......until 112 days ago!

Get redy for a ride cuz the first 5 days suck big time! Embrace the suck......remember how bad you feel because it will keep you quit later on down the road!

I took my last pinch of that black crap Tuesday (Nov. 29th) I bought some nicorette, before I found this site of course, Just threw that away about a minute ago. So I guess I will count today as day 1 off the nic b***.

I've been on her for 7 years. I always found excuses and pin pointed a certain event to quit. IE: (when i return from my deployment to Iraq) When I get out the marines, after i find a job, after I'm no longer the new guy at work, and on and on.) I have to quit for myself, my wife, and my babygirl.

Thanks in advance. And BTW how does all this work exatly?
travis,

Post roll in the March group and make your promise each day. Exchange numbers with people from your group. Drink the koolaid--it has worked for 1000's of quitters. 219 days I made this same choice--best choice of my life.

pm me if you need anything
