Welcome.

Quitting is simple, but hard as hell to do.

Wake Up, Piss, Post. Every Damn Day.

Refuse to cave, at all costs, under any circumstance. We've all done it, so there are thousands of examples that it can be done. I'm on day 469.

Grab some numbers form your quit brothers, and reach out when you need to.

Proud to quit with you.

Dslack3 - great to have you on board, and great to see that you recognize this for what it is - an addiction. That thinking is going to help you immensely.

You said you've been lurking here, so I'm sure you've got some idea on how things work. Head on over to the August group and post roll. I'll send you a PM in a bit.

Again - good to have you here, and excited to see you quit.

Finally going to do it!
« on: May 04, 2017, 01:07:00 PM »
Hi all.
Here goes. I have just had my last and final dip. I have lurked on this forum and vowed to never dip again countless times. I had my first dip in high school around 12 years ago and just did it recreationally. In college I picked up smoking and eventually quit that by doing what I believed to be a safer alternative. I have dipped consistently ever since but now is my time. I will be graduating from medical school in two weeks and starting my residency in a couple months. I want to quit this addiction and begin fresh in my life at this momentous life changing moment. I have never tried before and realize it is going to be very tough. My wife and daughter have been asking me to quit for years but it took me deciding for myself to make the commitment. I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared and apprehensive but nevertheless now is the time. I am excited and encouraged that a platform such as this exists for support and encouragement for people undergoing this great task. I look forward to meeting fellow recovering addicts and hope that I can not only gain but lend support where needed.

With that said....LETS DO THIS!
