Thank you everyone - so far, so good for day one. Very Very Very irritable! at times I feel like I am floating through the day and everything is surreal, then BAM! a damn craving and Jolly Rangers (hopefully) to the rescue. This really sucks, why did I ever start! What an F'ing idiot I am!

Hey shazam, good to here you made the leap of faith, stick with it.

i have been avioding my triggers or being prepared when they come put in some fake when i know i got a softball game. little craves i come to the site and that seems to make my craves or pains go away becasue i know others are going through the same, and they are fighting through, and that means so can WE.

The old standby is sunflower seeds. I prefer dill pickle flavor. I'm also finding good black licorice to be helpful.

Really though, nothing helped the first two or three days for me. By the end of the third day, I was getting some breaks in the haze, though. And yeah, the craves are still there, but getting exponentially easier to deal with. I'm into my second week of quit...

Hey bro, welcome!! in answer to your question... altoids and jolly ranchers help me. also the jaw breakers that are hot help me out too. you know, the ones that feel like your head is on fire when you pop em in ur grill? yea, those.

Also, try to score some new activities/hobbies. I've been going to the gym a lot. And, I have been playing racquetball w/my old man. Don't know if you have ever played r-ball before but it's a damn good cardio workout!! Anything to get your mind off the dip.

If all else fails you could always 'jerk' ... i've heard it takes the stress away. Stay close to this site dude!! You got this thing, you can do it!!

It's only day 7 for me, but I can attest that after the first 3 days the craving really does die down. Not saying it's easy, but you'll feel the difference in the craving and it becomes easier to deal with. I ate like a pig for several days...and I'm still eating heavy, but even that's subsided a little bit. Keep your mind occupied...that's the best I can offer. I read through a bunch of the different groups on this site....it helped pass the time and you find out there's a lot of people just like you and that helps.

DAY 1 - I have had a day one before and even a day two (I think), but never have I had the support of a group like this one. With any luck (or just damn determination) and lots of help from this group, I can make it to day 100 and even day 1000!
Now, besides the fake chew and gum, anyone have any ideas on distraction from this mind numbing, hating life, pissy f@#$, god awful feeling?
