1 week in. Day 7 is exponentially better than day 2.

Still have some minor craves but nothing like the first 3 days and not too hard to brush off now.

Now its just accepting the fact that I can never put another dip in my mouth....period.

Welcome Hubie! I'm right there with ya brother, it's day 3 for me.

I haven't tried Jolly Ranchers, but I've had pretty good luck with Mentos and the hot red fireballs. I have to thank "Mike" for the fireball tip! :)

Hang in there!

Congrats! On day 2 myself! Let us know if you need anything or someone just to scream at.

'oh yeah'
Thanks. Everything is just a bit off at this point. Jolly Ranchers not the best placebo.
First of all welcome. Next I would suggest cinnamon candies first (hot tamales, red hots, atomic fireballs etc.) they are a great placebo. Drinks lots of water and exercise when a craving comes, even a brisk walk can help.

Also, thank you for actually reading on here and learning terminology as well understanding your quit before posting in your intro. I like it when people read before they ask.

We are all here to help you and I look forward to watching your quit progress.

Hubie, you are not alone. Your story is like a lot of ours. But because that is true your quit can be the same as ours as well. Here's some quick helpful hints
1. Take roll call seriously. You make a daily promise to not dip and you do it by posting roll. If your word means something to you, make sure that that is reflected in your dedication to posting roll. People who post roll every day do so much better than those who make it an occasional practice.
2. Use the site as often as you can. Post your thoughts in the inro thread, go to the chat room, and pm and exchange numbers with members of your quit group. Try to spend as much time focusing on quiting as you do spending time thinking about caving.
3. Be prepared. Don't take long drives without having some gum seed, fake chew, etc handy. Whenever you enter a situation you know in advance will be tough, make sure you have a plan in place to get you through it.
4. Tell as many people as you can that you quit. Might sound embarrassing but adding accountability always helps.
5. Know this. At some point in time something bad will happen in your life while you are quitting. DO NOT assume that gives you the right to dip again.

Good luck!

Welcome to the Stone Cold Quitters of November and welcome to KTC Hubie! My apologies for not saying Hi earlier. I didn't see your Day 1 post until today. Congratulations on taking the first step to be quit for the rest of your life. You've done it once before, so you know what happens. This time around, you have all the resources of KTC on your side. You got this brother. Post roll and reach out to anyone and everyone. Use this intro as a journal. Don't be afraid, everyone on this site is great. If you ever need someone to talk to or having difficulty in your quit, send me a PM. Myself and numerous others on this site are more than willing. Quit on, brother!

Congrats on a great choice, Hube!!! Post roll, read all you can, and repeat. Road trips cause many caves. I think it was the scent of the granules in the carpet where I wiped my fingers. Whatever it was, it was a good enough excuse for me to buy a new truck!!!

You're right about having support this time. Click around in the Quit Groups. Then think...all of those names have been, or are, right where you are right now. You've taken the first step...we've got your back the rest of the way. Post roll, rage, holler for help...whatever. Just live free, brother. You got this.

Welcome Hubie, sounds like you know your quitting stuff. This time we'll help you get there. We'll do it one day at a time and with a web of accountability to keep you on the straight and narrow.

Settle in, get some digits from your Nov group and check out the list of where all quitters are from we have plenty of quitters from OH.

Need anything let me know via PM
