If you check out the Welcome Center here you will see that every day the top item that we all do is a roll call for each of the quit groups which is our promise to ourself as well as the accountabiliy to the others in the group to stay quit for that one day (one at a time).

so check that out, read the instructions and watch the video. Then head into the October group and take your pledge and join us.

Sorry for sounding like a noob, but what do y'all mean by post roll?

Hey - did you read the welcome center up top? Join October by posting roll, until you make that sacred promise in October and get to know your brothers, you might not get much support out here. Post roll, join the fray. There are some badasses in there, the burden is on YOU to get involved. Glad you're quit!

DennyX

PS. This isn't something you wait to have time in your day for either. You wake up, post roll, THEN get lost in your day. As you have realized, this isn't a joke. This is a fight for your life, a fight for your freedom. You fight nic with everything you have, you will win. You leave that door cracked a little, she wins. Guaranteed. Fight hard.
Well put, take heed Grey, man up and post up, we'll see you in October. I quit with you today.

Day 3 is a success. I was off today too and was expecting it to be tougher. No fog today either. Still getting urges, and can feel it all through my body, but it passes fairly quickly. Back to work tomorrow so I'll be good and distracted again.

Still here guys! Been swamped at work still here actually.

Day 2 coming to a close and I am good. I felt the fog yesterday but was too busy at work to do anything about it and it lifted. Today I feel alright. Thought about it a few times had some urges but nothing too unbearable. So far so good.

Thanks for all the encouragement. I need to get back on the floor at work, so I will see you guys for an update tomorrow.

Man, I am looking at the enthusiasm to your quit. Some solid quitters that believe in the tools offered here. Believe in themselves. Believe in you. Do you? Do you believe in yourself? If so post up friend. You can do this. If not? Well, welcome to more slavery. You know it sux.

Grey you are very wise and lucky to realize the evil when you see it.  Follow the example of your October group and you will quit!  You will find that this isn't a habit it is a addiction, and thus you can never ever be a casual user, one dip and you will be right back.  We are here to offer help but you must be willing to accept it, and recognize we do know what it's like to be addicts.  Quit on dude!
GreyWind,

So, where the fuck are you at? Quit, wrote an intro, posted roll and everything on day one. Well, it's day 2 and I don't see shit, no posted roll, no nothing! Where the fuck are you at? I sure as hell hope my post to your intro didn't scare your fragile butterfly winged ass away. Man up and post up!

Good you realize early that this is an issue as you can see how addictive the nic bitch is in how much you are using and how alluring it is by comming back and doing it right away.

I can tell you that this is definately the right place to come as you will make some brothers here that are in a similar boat as you (including myself who after 23 years needs to call it quits).

Join us, read all of the welcome and into stuff, get to the October Quit, and post your roll call each day as your promise to all that you will not touch the nic bitch again.

I am at day 6, am over the initial withdrawal symptoms (lots of water), and I will quit each day with you.
What the good Knight said. Just make sure this site is right for you. This is for quitters, not stoppers, the reason you choose to quit is dead on, it has to be for your own reasons. This is not a go easy on 'em, they're trying to quit kinda site, make sure you're up for it, if you are, then read on...

Welcome brother, and when I say brother I mean we will treat like you a little brother, so don't go fucking up and come crying back for help and special treatment. We are men and women here who do not tolerate being lied to, shit on, or having our support be taken for granted, we value integrity, respect, honor, and truth. We take each other at their word, because if I can't trust your word, I can't trust you. It doesn't get much more straightforward than KTC.

Welcome and peace,
Eric71

Almost 6 months in, time to quit
« on: July 07, 2012, 04:39:00 AM »
Hey guys. So I started dipping in March while I was on Spring Break, and it started out as a casual thing I would do from time to time. Then I bought my first can that would last a week. Then I would blow through a can every 2 or 3 days.

I left for Japan in May and returned stateside recently. I went almost 2 months without a dip and when I got back I lasted a day here in the US without buying one. Now I've been dipping again for about 2 weeks and the habit is back in force.

I need to quit now before this becomes a life problem. I'm doing this for me, because only about 2 other people even know I dip. I've finally realized and admitted to myself that this isn't a casual thing anymore, it has become a problem.

I need help. I need to know I can make it through this.
