I am surprised at how helpful this site has been today.

I have done a lot of reading and it really helps.

I now feel like I am not only accountable to myself but also to all the people here.

It is great after you swallow your pride and join.

I ran 3 miles on the treadmill.

I do 10 pushups every time I have a urge...up to 60 for the day.

I am amazed at how clean my teeth feel after no chew for 4 days.

I'll be on roll call tomorrow.
You. Are. Winning.
This site has probably saved lives, and we're all better off for being here.
See you on roll tomorrow!
Thanks for posting roll with me today. Look forward to posting with you tomorrow.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

Welcome Kayak,

Brother welcome to the Suck. We are all here for you to get you thru it. It will get better.

Myself and the test of the May group has your back... Just holler man!
It s not so bad! Once you get past the physical trauma of quitting you get to the good stuff. After the first few days, the nicotine is out of your system. Now you get to learn how to live without the poison lying to you. This is tough for some people. Some of us think we are cured and leave KTC to learn life the hard way. But if you are smart, you will recognize you are an addict and you will surround yourself with strong quitters who will show you what freedom is all about. You are here to quit! Read everything and learn, then you have all the tools to STAY quit! Its easy to decide to quit! It takes balls and courage to stay quit! Be a man and regain your freedom!

I posted roll call...it felt really good.  Today is that day when I am having trouble with the simplest of task and everything seems to be difficult.  My mind is racing and just need to stay busy.  I gave my wife the nic gum and told her to make it disappear.

I got several PM's which really helped...

For whomever asked...kayakdude is a nickname I have for a while...I belong to a group called Hardcore Kayak Fishing Team...we are basically a band of brothers that fish from kayaks all year long.

Thanks for the support.
Welcome to the fog kayak. It gets better. 72 hours to clear the nicotine out of your system and then the head games begin.

You have the right idea. Stay busy as possible. When you really start to feel it crank up, bang out as many push ups, sit ups, and wall squats that you can. The physical exhaustion will help with the craves.

Drink as much water as possible. I can't claim this, but if you walk by a bathroom and don't have to pee, you aren't drinking enough water.

Stick by the website and use the tools afforded to you and you can/will do this.
What he said ^^^^^....love to fish too; especially from my raft. Get's you into spots others don't get to fish. Hold on, you will get through this....it gets better and you only have to quit and make it through one day at a time (ODAAT).
Great advice so far. Read, read, read. Help out a new guy that comes behind you. Get some numbers from some guys ahead of you.

Welcome to the insanity.

Welcome aboard, fellow May traveller!
First few days are the worst, but it gets better, a lot better. You're going to have to re-wire your brain to get healthy and purge the nicotine. If you're bored, even if you're not, read all you can in these pages, a lot of gold is thrown around in here. As you already said, drink all the water you can, exercise. Stock up on chewing gum, mints, fake dip...whatever floats your boat. Keep stuff in your vehicle, golf bag, gym bag...never be away from your 'replacements'.
You can do this!

See you got roll posted....awesome decision.

One thing to note, make sure you Control A, Control X (cut)....do not just copy and then Control V to paste to top box. Otherwise, it doubles up. Fixed it for you today.

We must have been typing at the same time. Throw whatever you have left, gum, patches cans of dog shit into the toilet and flush it....no late night dumpster diving. Post roll with May 2014 quit group. I am sending you a PM with a link on how to do it all.

Kayak,
Also, you need to go up the "Welcome Center" tab on upper left of your screen and read everything there. Learn how to Post Roll. It is a sacred requirement and is the price of admission to this club. You must post roll EVERY DAY without fail. You will be in the May '14 quit group and your brothers and sisters will hold you accountable. Make friends and contacts, exchange phone numbers. You will need them as lifelines. Now go throw your stash and that nic gum away NOW, and get your quit on.
If you have questions, PM me.
