This is robert I had a dream last nite bout dip I freaked out thought it was for real,I read on this website bout dip dreams, how long will it last/is it normal? Anyone had this expericence with this yet?if so could offer advice

Yes, I've been having same dreams! I'm sure we aren't the only ones! Our brains are trying to re-wire themselves! I've studied dreams and dreams usually consist of the junk in our minds before we go to bed! So being we are quitting chewing, it has definitely been on our minds alot!

Welcome again. Here is the the link to the Welcome page. Read Items 1-4 the post roll and keep your promise. You are in the April Quit Group.

Also and don't take this the wrong way, You have posted 4 or 6 new topics in the Intro section. It would be easier for us all to follow along and help you if you would just add replies to one of your pages, Greetings perhaps, instead of opening new topics.

After the nic is out of your body, it is one big mind FU$K. Stay focused and in the present. If you can't manage one day at a time, then go hour by hour. Either way, that crap is not in your system and you are already beginning to heal. The mind games ( Nic bitch ) can be brutal...........but you really have to want this............you want to be QUIT with this nic habit. You are the only one that will screw this up........no one is putting this in your mouth..........god bless and stay quit.

I dunno if I agree about the sex, my sex drive has been close to 0 since I quit....which sucks. Chew gum and redirect your cravings onto something else, for instance...what would you really like to drink right now? Then obsess over that instead, it helps to misdirect your craving towards something else.

Ultimately, though, you have to just tell your mind that you hate dip, and that dip is the cause to all your problems, the reason why you feel like shit now, the reason it's hard to get up in the morning, etc. If you tell your mind it's all dip's fault you'll want to stay away from it. Hate it!

Someone will probably come along with better advice than I, but the main thing is knowing that no matter what trigger comes along, you don't have a choice. If you post your daily promise first thing in the morning, you CAN'T cave. You've given your word, and you are a man of your word. My second or third day when I knew I was headed to a trigger situation, I came on here and posted my promise a second time, just for good measure. Just to remind myself and my quit bros that I gave my word and I'll be damned if I'll break it.

As the saying goes, caving is not an option. Do something else. Like parputt says, shove someting else in your mouth: candy, sunflower seeds, fake dip (NO NICOTINE!!!), bark dust, coffee grounds, whatever. Excercise does wonders.

Come on here and get in chat or just read anything and everything. You'll find good advice at every turn.

Above all, remember that quitting is the most important thing you are doing right now. PERIOD. No trigger situation is worth risking your quit early on. Avoid them if you can. If you can't, have a plan to deal with them (substitutes as mentioned above, escape plan, etc).

If all else fails, you better have some numbers from folks here to call or text before you cave. Those are part of your tools. Use them. If don't have numbers yet, PM me and you can have mine.

Ultimately, just don't put that poisonous shit in your mouth. Just don't do it.
Well said, very well said. The only thing I would add is sex. Sex is a great way to get through a crave. It helps to involve your wife or girlfriend in the process, but that is up to you. End result however is that whatever you put in your mouth, it just can't be nicotine!

Stay strong, stay quit!
