Alot of people don't understand what I'm working through so I decided to join KTC.  Looking forward to catching up.
Unless they've walked the walk, NO ONE understands what you're going through EXCEPT KTC.

If you get too foggy, frustrated or just plain ole' pissed off, shoot me a PM, or post it up here.

The people in your life that don't understand what you're going through also do not deserve your rage cuz you were a dumbass for 12 or so years.

But we get it, we were dumbasses too, and we can take it.

Welcome to the freak show brother, it's the best decision you've ever made.
Communicating with others who "understood" is the only thing has kept me quit.

I agree with you about the triggers. For us dippers, everything is a trigger. Everything from getting up to going to bed was a trigger for me.

It will get better and you will succeed if you follow the rules of KTC.
The understanding is one of the many tools this site has the other is a great place to rage and vent when needed and it will be needed!!!!

Stay focused on your goal and dive into your quit the rewards are great! I have only been quit for 52 days and I feel great.

The best part is I like the new me and my family appreciates the new me but I am doing this for me not them!!

One day at a time brother.

First couple of days, it was terrible. No focus, zoning out, staring into space....terrible. Now, it's usually only in the morning when I wake and the end of the day - kind of like now. :D

I'm working super hard at this. I know I can maintain this. I've got Ice Breaker Mints as a substitue for the time being. My 9 year old asked me the other day why I like to eat this mints all the time now. LOL.

Working on indentifying my triggers. Its like everyday, I find a new one. Biggest one is any amount of time spent in the car by myself.

I started this quit just focusing hour by hour. Made it through the first couple of days and started focusing on 1/2 days. Now I'm day by day.

Not sure what is next but when I go to bed - I celebrate my small victories (quietly to myself) and when I wake up, I promise myself no dirt today.
john,

I know it's hard to hear this and accept but to echo the brothers, "it gets better". I like strategy though smaller goals and victories. Keep it up and if you need anything pm me or anyone for that matter.

Great choice John! Great Frickn chioce.

Yes, the people here know what you're going through. They know all the BS excuses your nicotine addicted mind will try to justify. They know when you will be weak and vulnerable to the siren's song. They know what it feels like, and they remember what early suck feels like, so they never are tempted to repeat a day 1.

Everyone's "fog" and the timing is a little different, so don't be discouraged if you still feel foggy after 8 days. You have the nicotine out of your body, and now the mind is starting to play games with you. I've only been here 66 days, but I can tell you day 66 is a hell of a lot better than day 8. I can also tell you that day 30 was much worse than day 20. But all in all, you WILL feel better tomorrow - there are thousands of quitters here that can confirm that. That is IF you stay quit TODAY!.

Glad to be quit with you.
*Quit today. Full stop. No qualifiers. Tomorrow?... IDK, IDC.

Sounds good man. Keep up the fight. A lot of guys don't recommend the fake stuff, cuz its too close to the real thing. But if the mints aren't cutting it, its better than real stuff. I use Smokey mountain straight. And it has gotten me through a lot of weak moments. But if your strong enough to do it without it, that is probably best.

Congrats on quitting John. Never heard of the fog lasting 8 days, but just keep pushing through it, and it will clear up. I'm about a week ahead of you, and I can tell you it does get easier. Although I still have some intense cravings, I'm learning how to deal with them. Stay strong brother.

Here I am....
« on: March 28, 2012, 05:13:00 PM »
Hello all,

I chew(ed) for a dozen or so years. Past couple years I've been at 1+ cans/day. Spent a year abroad doing 2 tins/day.

Just woke up one morning and said no more. I've been 8 days free of dirt but still in the fog.

Alot of people don't understand what I'm working through so I decided to join KTC. Looking forward to catching up.

Thanks.
