I have been dip free for 42 days. Unfortunately, it has been the worst experience of my life. Will never do the shit again after what I've been through. It has gotten easier, but my sleep is still pretty bad. Wake up every couple of hours still. Taking ambien and will sleep for first 4 hrs of the night. Probably 4 dececnt night sleeps in 42 days and that's around 6 hrs.

Anybody experience the same issue and how long does it last?

Thanks,

Evan18
I'm at day 41 and have the same issue. I'm fighting thru it but it's rough. Keep posting roll and we can beat this.

Great Evan!

Now why don't you join us and post roll. Why? I only speak from experience but like most of these other addicts, I needed the accountability to quit and stay quit. I would lie to myself, my wife, my kids to get back on the nic bitchs teats. But by posting a daily promise to this group of total bad asses, I am accountable and I'm a man of my word. Try it, you may see that you too can be as badass as they are.

Evan,

42 days, huh? That is fucking awesome! I don't recall when my sleep returned to normal...but it did. Quit thinking about it...impossible, I know. Keddy is right about excercise. It helps.

Ambien, really? Pills and patches are for pussies. Short cuts and tricks are bullshit. The only way out is to gut up and quit. Embrace the pain. I used sit in my truck and shout "I GET to feel like shit because I CHOSE to QUIT!"

You have to have fun with quitting. Learn to enjoy it. It is the feeling of freedom. Sleeplessness won't kill you...but don't just lay there in bed getting frustrated (or popping Ambien). Go for a walk. Log on to this site. Do busy work or clean the house. When you quit "trying" to sleep, you will sleep. And, if you're like me, you'll be all caught up on your laudry and will have finally organized your hand-tools in the garage. The, pretty soon, you're entering the HOF...still fighting addiction, but sleeping easy (unless you're still popping Ambien...there may be a site for that, too 'crackup' ).

Evan,

Insomnia is a common side effect of nic withdrawal. Your body is readjusting to the absence of the poison in your system. You are learning to be the REAL you all over again.

Make sure you are getting enough exercise.

I dealt with sleepless nights for quite a while. But don't despair!!! You're on your way to wholeness and freedom. It is worth the fight, brother!
