Make that lifeline stronger by the day -- reach out to guys that post to your thread, that have stories that resonate with you, or have avatars that make you blush -- whatever the reason, no one will be offended if you initiate contact and say "I could use some help". If folks don't offer up their numbers, move on, and don't dwell on it. More than anything else, use the numbers you get -- don't rely exclusively on PMs or trying to answer questions as quickly as possible in various threads. When the crave comes, the suck fills your head with a dense fog, and / or you can't think straight, send out a text. You can do this, just take it One Day At A Time (ODAAT).

Thanks a bunch Dave. I actually had some rough moments tonight and immediately jumped onto the forums and went to my quit class page. I posted and within 20 min 2 people had already PM'd me. This is amazing since it is so late. I really appreciate everyone's willingness to help after the rough start. I knew i came to the right place, maybe i just didnt realize it soon enough!

Thanks all!

Cuda

Hi Cudabenu, I've been quit for 5 days after 33 years of dipping. If I can get there so can you. I've been reading this site almost nonstop since last Sunday and it REALLY helps and works. I have even kept it open at work so I can look at it when the craves get bad. Anyway, if you made the decision to quit, stay quit! and PM me if I can help. I have your six.

Dave

Sounds like you're doing it right then! Re-direct that anger at the Nic Bitch. Get pissed about your slavery. Remember, quitting is a privilege. You GET to feel this shitty because you CHOSE to be free. That's reason to celebrate...not be pissed!!!

Have a great weekend. Stay close to this site. READ, POST, READ...

I honestly dont think so because I was signed up and this was my username, I dont know. so it should have been under this user name. I tried going back to some of the beginning days and reading the forum posts trying to find where I was but I didnt see it. I am also trying to respond to these questions as I get them. Today has been a bad day already and im very stressed over all of this. Maybe should have waited and joined the new quit group tomorrow so I could have worked out these answers for everyone.

In my quit group forum (new one), my first attempt was not a good one, full of excuses and sorry promises to a group of people that are accountable for me and that I am accountable for. I tried to make my second attempt more detailed an real.

I am looking, I think it would be Sept 2012 or Oct 2012. I failed to use anything as a tool, I failed to use my group, I failed to use friends, family, anything else to stop me from going back to chewing. I am getting reamed out in my quit groups forum about all this. So i am going to stop responding in this thread and if anyone wants to ask me questions PM me or join in the conversation over there.

I cant find where it is, 2600 posts is a lot to go through
well, we had a couldashoulda in Oct12, was that you????

if so a pretty scarce posting up til a little after day 50 (a day 52 being the last).

and if so again agree about not using and becoming a part of the group...this time maybe have this in your plan.

Without trying to sound like a dick, reading this site as much as possible is one of your tools. I would be reading and answering wherever you get questions.

Thanks for the reply. I will answer your questions now. I am uncertain though what you mean by my original quit group will still be mine now...

Anyways, I was on here like 4-5 years ago (cannot remember the exact year even) and i joined a quit group. Well, it was going well and I was posting roll call everyday and then can we just leave it at personal problems and situations that brought be back to dipping? I really don't feel like getting into it right now or ever again for that matter. I hope that is enough information for your questions.

I would be happy to answer anymore questions. Right now I am 14 hours almost to the dot for not having a dip, so yes im a youngen but I am quit.

You need to make the effort to go back and find that quit group and tell them that you failed to use them as a tool to stay quit. That's what he means.

Welcome back...now let us get some info first.

First...did you quit before and cave?  Or register and back-out?  If you quit before and caved, then you need to answer the 3 questions and you Quit Group will be your oginal group.

If you registered before, but didn't quit...well, um, mind telling us what was going on there?!!  'Crazy'  You could have caved.  You could have thought about quitting.  You could have been one of those folks who pops on here and tells us about all the great, life-saving shit they are about to do.  Or maybe, you just found the site, registered and left.  That is what we need to know.

But regardless of your situation, the MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THAT YOU ARE QUIT NOW, RIGHT?  If so, congrats.  Post Roll, Live Free.
Bean is as bean does. He always nails it.
