Congrats on moving forward! Just keep beating the craves and any discomfort down, or more accurately get through them. Remember them for later- that's the addiction fighting back, and it's good to remember how it feels so you never want to have to do it again.

It helped me to learn all I could about the addiction and how bad it really is. It goes deep into your brain chemistry. There's a lot of material in the Welcome Center here, and I like to share this link a lot too, since it really taught me a lot: Nicotine Addiction 101.

The other best tip I have is to make sure you have a network of supporters here at the site- trade numbers. Yeah their strangers but they become quit bros with you. Make friends from your own class and from other classes too.

Keep getting through it-- you'll be so glad to feel free, and you are getting close to having the nicotine GONE from your body!
This info helped me early on, and still does today: https://whyquit.com/whyquit/linksaaddiction.html

Quitters I’ve met so far: Ihatecope, >Pinched<, T-Cell, grizzlyhasclaws, Canvasback, BaseballPlayer, Cbird65, ERDVM, BradleyGuy, Ted, Zeno, AppleJack, Bronc, Knockout, MookieBlaylock, Rdad, 2mch2lv4, MN_Ben, Natro, Lippizaner, Amquash, ChristopherJ, GDubya, SRohde  -- always eager to meet more!

Hope to get some advice on how people got through the first few days.

One Day At A Time! Post Roll (that's a promise), keep your word and repeat. If you rage come here we understand. I had some bad ass quitters that took my shit for a couple weeks and went the rounds with me. I love a good argument, it's a reminder of the suck.

and... if you're feeling a little testy or agitated one day and one of your teammates offers you a dip, accept the can. Pour the whole thing on the ground, whip out your dick and take a piss on it. they won't ever offer it again.

Thank you for the response. Ya I know I can't even think about allowing myself another one. I have a very addictive personality so I'm trying to do like you said. The self talk seams to be helping a lot. In regards to just getting the thought of throwing in a lip out of my head. Il start drinking more water, but if you don't mind me asking, what will that accomplish?
Water helps to flush the toxins out of your body. There is no "trying" on this site. There is only quitting. Your buddies gotta keep their shit in a can to themselves. The first 3 days can be a rough son of a bitch if you let them. This is 110% about attitude. You will be on this site every damn day Posting Roll. If you stop posting the Nic Bitch will so you getting weak. 5 days ago I committed to quit. Pick up some Smokey Mountain nic free dip. That may help while on the field. Biggest thing to remember is you have to give up nic in its entirety. No patches, smokes, vapor, nothing. We are quitting with ya.

Welcome 777 to the quit! Water helps flush the toxins from your system and just helps shorten craves essentially. Remember a couple things and you can do this. We have all been where you are today. You only need to quit for today, we don't worry about tomorrow or next week or next year, its ODAAT here at KTC. Everyone here is willing to help you win this battle, we quit together because alone the nic bitch is crafty, but together we can stomp her guts out. Check your PM and lets get to quitting!

To start, a little about myself. I'm 20 years old and began dipping when I was 15 years old at baseball. I took a dip this morning after being off it for almost a full day. Might not seem like a lot, but after going through over a can a day it feels great. When I talk to other dippers on my team, they say they don't want to quit and it seems strange, so I guess I'm ready to get past this fucking habit. After being at the baseball field all day it feels great to say no to all the offers for a chew. Will be posting roll call every day. Hope to get some advice on how people got through the first few days. Been chewing gum like crazy, so hopefully that's all I need.

In order for you to be successful at this you are going to have to completely shut nicotine and dip out of you. Not just physically...that's the easy part. It's the mental fuck fuck games that your head is going to play with you that you need to shut down. Make a conscious decision to completely shut the door in your brain, lock it, and throw away the key where you will never find it again. If you leave even just a tiny bit of that door open, if you leave open the possibility, mentally, talking to yourself, that maybe you might be able to have a dip again...just every once in a while...you will fail. That's how powerful this shit is. Shut the door, turn around, and walk away.

Oh yeah...drink water and work out too. And tell all those fuckers on your team to keep that shit to themselves and don't talk to you about it.
